Isiah Thomas has 2 rings and Dr J has 1 ring but I don't think anybody would say Isiah was better then Dr.J. Anyways my new shtick when you pull this crap will be the total count of Duncan's finals mvps and regular season mvps vs Kobe's which is
Duncan 5
Kobe 3
Only pussies & assholes do mvps.
Lol you say that only because Kobe doesn't measure up in that department. Kobe's very overrated you would expect a guy whose being billed as the greatest player of his generation to have more then 1 regular season MVP and just 2 finals mvps. Its hard for me to see how Kobe is even better then Dr. J if you take away the rings argument they both have only 1 regular season MVP while one has shot above 50 percent several times while the other has never shot above 45 percent.
I don't do MVPs, Slicer.
It's my religion.
I do NBA les, hence:::
Kobe: 5
tired old bag Duncan: 4
Vanessa: 2.5
Kobe: 2.5
Duncan: 4
MVP's measure dominance so Kobe lacks in that department hence
Duncan: 5
Alimony piece of Kobe 3
1. Shaq only has 1 MVP, Steve Nash has 2, tells you all you need to know
2. Duncan is a C-PF, Kobe is a SG, only a re would compare their %
2001, 2002, 2004, 2008
Kobe: 5
tired old bag Duncan: 4
Fine, Slicer, you do the MVP's. I'm stickin' with:::
Kobe: 5
tired old bag Duncan: 4
You forgot to mention 03, and can imagine why. Also the 05 when Kobe, already knowing about the Spurs way, just missed the playoffs.
A true fan sticks with his team too trendy, never switches teams. That's written in stone trendy . . .![]()
Both are alltime greats and the media will put Kobe higher but the fact is Duncan's career is as good if not better.
PER is used by many to try to weigh the value of a player statistically, besides more MVPs and finals MVPs= Duncan of course top ten all time in PER while a plausibly overrated SG named Kobe is 17th. http://www.basketball-reference.com/...er_career.html
Duncan 4th among active while Kobe trails: LeBron, Wade, Paul, Duncan, and Dirk
1. Michael Jordan* 27.91
2. LeBron James 26.94
3. Shaquille O'Neal 26.43
4. David Robinson* 26.18
5. Wilt Chamberlain* 26.13
6. Dwyane Wade 25.65
7. Bob Pet * 25.35
8. Chris Paul 25.23
9. Tim Duncan 24.84
10. Neil Johnston* 24.63
11. Charles Barkley* 24.63
12. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar* 24.58
13. Magic Johnson* 24.11
14. Karl Malone* 23.90
15. Dirk Nowitzki 23.73
16. Hakeem Olajuwon* 23.59
17. Kobe Bryant 23.53
18. Larry Bird* 23.50
19. Kevin Garnett 23.43
As PER also shows Shaq not Kobe was the prime reason for LALs three les in a row and even with Gasol (28th all time) aside him Kobe could not deliver without Shaq to a similar extent. Kobe has also lost finals - Duncan has never lost a finals.
& before 2 years ago I'm sure this applied to rings too, you fat old cuck you
Only pussies & assholes do (PER).
That unsavory business aside:::
Kobe: 5
tired old bag Duncan: 4
---
& the bag has never repeated. Kobe has 3 times.
Me & dunky, Shoulder-2-Shoulder.
You have gotta be one of the most re ed posters out there. Where do I start Shaq still beats out Nash in total MVPs regular season and finals MVP's 4-2 so thats an epic fail. In this thread you have compared Duncan to Kobe so of course I'm going to bring up their FG percentage since its a comparison. I have had this argument with you before but its a fact that dominant bigmen are always more valuable then a perimeter player unless its MJ.
One thing as Kobe you should wonder why hasn't Kobe ever shot above 50 percent in his whole entire career that the best he's shot is 46 percent while all time great perimeter players like Dr.J,Bird, shot above 50 percent several times in their careers. I will even mention second tier greats such as Drexler, Reggie Miller, Gervin managed to shoot above 50 percent a few times through out their career. Even his contemporaries Wade,Lebron have reached that percentage. For Kobe to not be able to achieve this feat shows me he has low bball IQ. That was apparent in the final seconds of the bulls game yesterday when he tried jacking up a shot on 3 defenders in the paint instead of looking around for other options.
I wish Duncan was as good as Kobe. We would ring this year. It's not Kobe's "good" that's in question. It's his mentality.
If Tim had Kobe's hops, his shooting stroke, his ability to get to rim, NBA would be really ed.
Only pussies & assholes wish.
