There has been some heated debates between Laker and Spur fans alike concerning their best player. For the Spurs, they got Mr. Fundamental and for my Lakers, we have the Black Mamba. Both are bonafide 1st ballot HOFers - that is not the debate here. I wanted to give evidence as to their current levels of production and let the great people that peruse ST's NBA Forum decide once and for all, who is the real TOSB. Kobe or TD?

    Kobe - 28 pppg, 7 rpg, 6 apg, PER: 28.96
    TD - 10 ppg, 6 rpg, 1bpg, PER: 15.33

If you are not a numbers guy/gal, here is visual proof of Kobe's most recent body of work. As you can see, his knee operation was successful:

(to be fair, Spur fans please post 2011-2012 vids of TD doing work )

Honorable people of ST's NBA Forum, have you reached a verdict? Who is undeniably the real TOSB - Kobe or TD?

BTW, this thread will be updated as needed for pinpoint accuracy and up to date stats.

Not just 3 games, but back to back to back. 28/7/6 is what he averaged. Not bad for a TOSB, ya think?

    With a 1-2 record...
    New system
    New coach
    No Bynum

Thems be the facts. But despite it all they are giving up 86 ppg, opponents are shooting 39.4%, and despite Bynum's absence, we are 14th in rebounding (no rebounds no rings is what Riles used to say). When Bynum returns against the Nuggs, everyone goes back to their regular rotations. I expect the Lakers to be a top 5 defensive team this year. Offense will come once we are balanced again.

    See you on January 19th.

So you're saying the difference between winning and losing for the Lakers is Bynum not Kobe?..
Nice job, head. No Bynum means we are not balanced. Let me dumb it down for you.

    Pau (PF) moves to center
McBob (bench player) moves to starting PF
Ebanks (essentially a rookie) moves to starting SF
Kobe (battling through wrist injury) - doing well shouldering the load: 28/7/6
    Fisher (kill me now)

When Bynum returns, Pau shifts to PF, McBob bolsters our bench, Kobe doesn't have to score as much, and Fisher (well, it's glue factory time for him).

OTOH, take away one of the big 3 in Miami, and let's see how good you guys are.

Regardless, when Bynum returns, you will see a different Laker team. The defensive effort is already there. Bynum will provide us balance - then watch the offense pick up.

    January 19th homie, January 19th.

For better or worse, yes. However, when he plays he is 2-0 in the Finals. Let's flip the script. Your post season hopes are relying on LBJ who just so happens to be 0-2 in the Finals.

Bynum is also 0-4 in the 2nd round...
