Jerry Buss miscalculated Kobe's future worth big time. He thought Kobe could still lead the Lakers for some deep playoff runs to get some of that money back but its simply not happening anymore. Expect 1st and 2nd round exits year in and out till 2016 and quite possibly less National Televised games next season when younger teams like Miami, OKC, Clippers are a lot more fun to watch.

Your not the brightest so I'll clue you in. The 175 mil is Laker revenue not Kobes. They get it regardless if he plays or is even on the team. I have had people tell me for decades to expect first round exits and I'm working on 17*.

TV revenues don't work for or against the cap

Buss maybe more inclined to pay a higher luxury with that deal, but that's it. Lakers would first have to be under the cap, or sign & trade someone, for the chance of a higher luxury to kick in.
