Spurs are stuck with RJ till the amnesty, no matter how well he plays.
If you were GM of some team, would you want that sack of ? Of course not.
An RJ appreciation thread? Really? After his ty play in the playoffs? The with him till he does this in the playoffs.
I think two indicators of how well he'll keep it up are if he's second on the team in scoring and Parker is averaging around 7-8 apg. It's basically what happened at the start of last season. Yet later in the season Parker's scoring went up and his assists went down. I think Parker's finding the right balance right now. I also think TJ Ford is helping RJ since he looks to facilitate.
If only he could, or better, would preserve the energy he shows right now throughout the season and playoffs...
bump
great game again
After tonight's game, RJ is shooting 58% from distance.
We found a use for RJ! But naw his stroke looks really smooth right now. Keep spottin that man up in the corners!
The first 4 games of last season, R.J. posted 16, 18, 18, and 28.
Tha last 4 games of last season, R.J. posted 4,0,6, and 0.
I'm not ready to nominate him for MVP. But I'll say this in his favor: with all the negative comments, and all the talk about amnesty in the offseason, he has come out playing hard. A lot of guys wouldn't do that.
His contract is guaranteed, no matter what he does. He could have just said "screw 'em", or he could have totally lost confidence and disappeared. Give credit where it's due. Jefferson is obviously trying to step up and earn his money. I hope he can keep it up.
I'll take whatever he gives us... tbh, I fully expect him to turn to Casper when it matters
deja vu
RJ seems to have his long range stroke down for sure. I don't want to be skeptical, but I need to see it continue in the post season before I become a true believer. I have never doubted his ability, just his desire at times.
Props to RJ, keep it rolling.
Dude has been on fire so far. I'll take what we can get seeing how we were about to pay him to leave.
Thought the same thing. Hopefully it actually lasts a little longer than last year.
Rj probably has more confidence is his shooting stroke than he did last season. He started off great, but probably lost some confidence along the way. Let's see if he can keep it up, if he can do it then I gotta give him props for reworking his shot. Right now he is shooting lights out.
We coulda used this last season RJ......but good stuff. Keep it up.
Jefferson is killing Dallas from behind the 3 pt line tonight.
It's raining 3 balls
Hallelujah
RJ being early season RJ. If we could start the season in the playoffs, we would be champs.
's agressivenes and effectiveness never lasted this long the first two seasons. Keep hatin'
Slingin' elbows fighting for boards? That's something new.
It's sort of like the X-Files movie: I Want To Believe.
RJ has been a pleasant surprise! He has started the season strongly despite the front office's very public attempts to amnesty him. He's responding the way Odom should after the Lakers put him on the trading block.
