Jake the snake Delhomme is a proven superbowl quaterback. TJ Yates is a product of Kubiak's ego. Had Delhomme started in place of Yates the Texans would have clobbered Cincy by the end of the second quarter. Yates should get on his knees tonight and blow the entire O line and Arian Foster. They saved his ass today.
Tell me how Jake Delhomme did in last playoff start. Ask DoK and Pawe.

Only thing Im mad about is being robbed of seeing an evenly officiated game, other than that I could care less bout these 2 teams!
have you ever seen an even or well officiated game? If I have, I can't remember it.

I have never been as disgusted with NFL officiating as I am tonight. The refs clearly took the game out of the hands of the Lions. The outcome was probably predetermined as the NFL is up to its old tricks again by playing to the emotions of the casual fans. We will again have to hear all the Katrina rhetoric and how Drew Brees and the rest of the aint's are resurrecting the city of NO with 'inspired' play.
yeah, now that you mention it, those Det DB's must have been paid off too, no other explanation for dropping those INT's

Every NFL team gets away with no calls. Tier 1 teams like the saints, patriots, steelers, and packers will always get called out by opposing fans.

Folks are going to blame this Lions loss on the refs? Really? There were terrible calls/no-calls on BOTH sides. How about the no-call on the body slam of Thomas, long after the whistle? How about the no-call on the horse collar and face mask tackles of Brees? Several push-offs weren't call on CJ as well. As far as the fumble by Brees, the ball moved forward, and in real time, it would have been tough to judge if it was a forward pass attempt or not. It was blown dead, period. The ball should have been given back to the Saints. Instead, the refs gave it to the Lions. Everyone stopped when the play was blown dead, with the exception of the 1 guy who picked up the ball and ran. EVERYONE does that, any time the ball hits the ground coming out of the QB's hand. No one chased him.. and the majority of his team stood there as if they thought the play was dead. So, it's pretty stupid to cry about that after the fact. It was blown dead/incomplete, and should have been given back to the Saints.

The Lions defense just suck lol

The real story was that Brees failed to match Matt Flynn's production.

im talking this season, and including the seahawks playoff game. you know that 7 and 9 team? the team out west, in the same area in which the saints have to travel. in the nfl going out west from the east seems to be a big deal physically

The Lions defense fell asleep in the 2nd half.

The officiating had nothing to do with it.

Officiating was pretty bad, but Lions players did not realize they were playing full contact tackle football. They would have lost regardless.

If the whistle never blew, it wouldn't have been a TD. Most of the Saints stopped when the whistle blew. Robert Meachem was just walking around even before the Lions recovered the fumble. Only one one Saint was going for the fumble and that was Colston. Even if the whistle never blew, alot more of the Saints would have gone for the ball and there's no way the Lions would have scored a TD. Just watch the replay.

The fact is, the Lions recovered two Saints fumbles in the first half and got zero points, and the Saints stopped them enough to win easily.

Pretty hard to have credibility when you think Jake Delhomme can help a team win in the playoffs. Remind me, what's Yates' record against playoff teams this season?

Your video shows it. The whistle blew before any of the lions recovered the fumble and most of the Saints were walking around on that play.

11 of 20 for 159 and 40 of those yards to a wide open Dre that even you would have completed....but oh yeah he did what he supposed to do...handed it off to Foster and get the outta the way

Better than what Delhomme did in his last playoff game.

    Missed calls? Sure.

But lets not pretend the Lions were going to win that game. Their defense is deplorable and amazingly, it only got worse as the season went on. Missed 3 picks, missed 40 tackles, that "amazing" D-Line didnt do all game (or season really), the Saints ran all over them and threw just as many.

Saints won because the Lions defense would get shredded by the MAC champions offense. Put a real NFL offense like the Saints and Drew Brees, you get 45 points in a bunch of different ways.

Disappointing to say the least. If they draft another ing wide receiver...

Hopefully, the new Lions regime focuses on the obvious. Cornerbacks and Safeties.

Good game Saints, but you arent winning this year. You pulled away from a bush league defense in the 4th quarter at home. The moment the Saints step out of their dome, theyre going home permanently.

1st down awarded when on 4th down Brees dove forward into the air.
On the way down former SEC dawg Fairley stripped the ball loose.
