got an iphone 4s... and Im pissed

I want my droid x back. Those of you who are brainwashed into thinking everything apple makes is the best really need to step outside your comfort zone. I feel restricted as using this thing. Why do I have to register with apple to download apps? Why do I have buy ringtones instead of simply letting me pull one from my library (please tell me this some knee-jerk reaction). I have never downloaded or used itunes, and now I'm basically forced into it. I should have asked for a razr instead of listening to all you drones.

Exactly. It required no effort to use my droid. Do I want a movie/song/picture on my phone? Plug into the computer, just like a flash drive, and that's it. I don't feel like going through the trouble of spending an hour to get my phone to work the way I want it to.

It is funny how I never used iTunes until I got my iPhone (never owned an iPod). But since I used it for 3+ years to manage my library, it's been hard weaning myself off it. I still use it to play my music library on my computer, along with Winamp.

You can't add a song and make it a ringtone straight away because of the size of the file. Ringtones are only 30 seconds or so. But it actually isn't hard to turn a music file into a ringtone without ever having to buy a ringtone. It takes about 5 minutes to learn (less if you're good at these things) and a minute tops to do it.

I find it funny how iOS is supposed to be so simple that hackers don't like it, and yet so many people complain about having difficulty doing things. So which is it?

Anyway, instead of ing about how you don't like it, just return the damn thing and get an Android phone. That's so much easier than complaining about how much you hate the 4s. And you want things to be simple, right?

I can't just swap phones, it's a company phone. I was hoping my rant would lead to some solutions, such as the ringtone issue you pointed out.

It works pretty damn well once you get everything set up the way you like it. It definitely works better on Mac OSX, but if you have a decent Windows box with a good amount of RAM it works great. I just leave it open all the time since it also supplies my Apple TV with content.

Vista works as advertised after the few service packs. It is also more intuitive and less restrictive than Itunes. But that's as far as we can go comparing since one is an OS that pretty much stays out of your way and the other and App that tries to take over your digital media life.
