Very entertaining game, Spurs are showing a lot of heart without Manu and TJ. I thought they would fold in a hurry but they are miraculously proving me wrong. Great to see the young guys stepping up so much...Green, Leonard and Splitter are really earning their playing time.

These Spurs probably won't win a championship but they are damn fun to watch.

Did you expect Dallas to win last year?

    Best thing about tonight's win:

    Only 6 minutes for Bonner

When he's responsible for running the offense, Neal can't be Neal. He's just not up to PG duties, and it kills his shooting. Something gotta give there.
Agreed. Neal is a marginal PG at best - but as a SG that can make some nifty extra passes hes great. When he dominates the ball like that though he loses what makes him special.

Why did Tiago only play 19? I'm thrilled with the win, but why does Pop treat him like Duncan?

good game spurs fans, san antonio came out in the 4th and put it to us. it was any teams game for the taking for the first 3 but the spurs just seemed to of wanted it more. you guys have a pretty deep bench also.
Blazers look great too. The defense has really improved. I'm sure Portland will play better when the game is at RG.

Either Joseph needs to get a sniff or they've got to find a vet-minimum ala Quinn. Neal running 2nd unit point is a fail and must be addressed immediately.

Hes shown the potential for that kind of play time and time again. Dating back all the way to game 1 of the season. He just reverts back to his no-confident, soft, inconsistent play a little too much. With that said, him playing with more confidence is an upward trend so lets hope it continues.

    Plus:
Danny Green seems to be getting on track again
    Tiago Splitter looked awesome
Bonner was ONLY on the court for 6 minutes
Tony had another good scoring night (eventually)
Kawhi continues to show new wrinkles to his beast mode
    Malcolm Thomas can jump high
    Duncan only played 21 mins

    Minus:
Neal is to PG as RMJ is to PG, it just doesn't work
James Anderson failed to capitalize on another opportunity
Bonner was on the court for 6 minutes
Despite strong play, Tiago still didn't close

Danny Green has played so well as an unwanted, off the scrap heap signing, kind of player. It gives me hope for Malcolm Thomas.

    Hopefully you're right.

But Danny Green actually has a rich history with the Spurs. Hes been with us for about a year but beyond that he was with Danny Ferry on the Cavs. So the spurs have pretty good insight on him from Ferry, and if I'm not mistaken, Ferry was the one that recommended we pick him up after he came back to the Spurs. Thomas hasn't gone through that kind of extensive scouting so whether he ends up contributing is more of a question mark.

Yea ive got mixed emotions about the team right now. they show the potential, but its frustrating to watch these last few games. I know we can play with the best of them at the RG but we need to show we can win on the road. going into san antonio tonight and getting a W against a team who hasn't had a home loss would of been great, but its never that easy i guess

Heh... think how ironic this could be. If Thomas somehow turns out to be a keeper, this could be the best season for personnel moves the Spurs have had in years. Leonard, Green, T.J. Ford. Throw a successful D-League call up into that, and they will have run the table.

And we were all talking about the ship going down, and all that icy water.

Hes pretty much modeling suits for mens warehouse right now. He was said to come back in Jan. but had another "setback" so chances are we wont see him in a blazer uniform ever again.

Haha, when Ginobili went down I personally didn't mind tanking at the time. But I told myself I was going to let what I saw on the court decide and so far I can't help but to cheer for them and be happy when they win.

Too bad Ford is as injury prone as ever but Leonard, Green, Splitter are all playing great basketball right now.

If Neal returns to "Neal with it" and JA starts hitting his shots with some regularity this season could be even funner.
