Sure, Kobe is the closest thing to MJ...
Err... that's it? That's the big punchline? Now Kobe fanbois realize Kobe can't catch up with MJ, so they settle for this stuff?![]()
Kobe on a skills level is as close as we have/have had to Michael Jordan. Don't think anyone will disagree with this statement, and if they do then they're just hating.
With that said, he's not close to the defender Michael was, isn't as good a team player, and isn't as good of a passer. He's not on MJ's level, but he's the closest. Wade is also up there, imo. Lebron plays a totally different game from Wade/Kobe/Jordan so the comparison isn't fair.

I remember when you all swore up & down Kobe would never catch up to Duncan. That was before Tim was a bag. Well, he caught up to Duncan and then put him in a hole. And he's been there ever since, 5-4, bag & all.
Wait, Duncan? Now he is also involved too?
Damn, Culby. You losing it. Take a vacation.
I let you.
^Answer the ELE question and I'll be on hiatus for another 24 hours.
You're right...he's only 6 rings away. Long live the king!![]()
Rings are team accomplishments, though. If Bron stays healthy, he goes down as the better individual talent than Kobe.
He doesn't need to brag. His body of work speaks for itself. His final chapter won't be written for a few more years. Can you dig it?![]()
I hate to agree with a Lakers fan, but yeah.
Lebron has yet to win something.
You mean the body of work that features not one all-time top ten Finals performance?
Wade is entering TOSB territory. If Wade isn't his usual self, LBJ won't ringPERIOD.
You goddamn right. One borough at a time, LF. Protect that borough. Protect that turf. Because it's all ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TD has more Finals MVPs than Kobe. There. I said it. But it still boils down to:
Kobe 5, TD 4.
BOOM! Just like that.![]()
+ Tim never repeated. Kobe repeated 3 times!
Thems be the MFn facts.![]()
^I still got it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kobe also failed to win it some times he got to the Finals too.
How do you fail in the last step?
I mean, I'm sure it was not Kobe's fault.
He is known to excel on important games/series or, ofc, in the Finals.
Back 2 back NBA MVP...
Clearly the blame is on his teammates.
The bas s.
We ain't settling for . Many of MJ's records are within Kobe's reach. Rangs and points. That's part of the reason why MJ helped veto the CP3 trade.
Kobe rang with Fish as his PG. ALL of MJ's PGs were better. Plus Kobe took a playoff winless Pau and turned him into a back to back champion. Did I mention Pau is no HOFer like Pip?![]()
Frankly, MJ was spot on... Kobe should've done the math, and if he was anywhere near as good, should've taken over when Shaq walked. The reality is Shaq will always be considered the best player in that 3-peat, and loom any comparisons...
Instead, Kobester tanked, quit, raped, snitched, then started to actually realize what Mike meant by math, but it was too late.
Wait, you blame Fisher's staying on the Lakers as an excuse tht Kobe is no MJ.
HAHAHA! But of course! Now all is clear! How can it be?!? ing Lakers why didnĄt they got a decent PG to help Kobe, with all that money and cap space...
oh wait...
Shaq? You dare not mention Shaq daddy? He had nothing to do with it?
Forgetful lakerfan![]()
Media award. Nash repeated too. What's your point?
Kobe 5, Nash/TD 4 (combined for emphasis)![]()
