I just thought I would shake things up a bit. I'm pretty mush typical in my fiscal conservative views and am socially libertarian. Just because I refuse to be politically correct, I am dubbed extreme?

Let me ask you something. If NY raises taxes of the rich, how many of them do you think will seek legal residency in some other state they own property in, and deny NY of their taxes? I think NY will lose revenue rather than gain it. The liberal thought is such the wealthy and businesses dry for tax revenue, then wonder why businesses and the wealthy move elsewhere, or overseas.

I've gotten mad at people in this forum too, when I started posting in it years ago, now I take it for what it's worth......not much.

Meeting some of the posters here has helped me understand how their life experiences have shaped their views. It not something easily conveyed on a keyboard (I'd go so far as to say that it's impossible).

The truth is only insulting to those that are unaware its the truth. Shanks is permanently unaware of anything resembling reason. In other words, yes I had an inkling she might feel insulted.

In this particular case, though, I'm more amused/confused by the suggestion that the lack of civility 'round these parts is at all sudden or has become markedly worse in recent months (or that the MLK thread was a big enough straw to have finally sent the camel to traction) than I am by the general observation that people can be asshats in here.

However, expectations are too high imo. There's no real accountability for violating said agreement, save inactivation of ones account.
