If you choose not to post, you choose not to post. If you don't like the site anymore, you leave. Nobody forces anybody to stay or leave, you make your own choice. Blaming trolls because you personally don't like things is a pussy move.
I think the NBA Forum blows for the most part, and I don't care for like 90% of the trolling, but if I choose not to post anymore, it's because I personally don't want to. I'm not going to be a little got and blame other people and say "the trolls were too mean".

If the quality of the average post degrades to the point where most of said site consists of trolling, then why post there? They aren't being run off, they're just electing not to spend your time in a forum that's turned to mostly insubstantial posts. The NBA section has dropped noticeably in quality over the years, and that is thanks in no small part to the trolls. There's a reason a lot of the better posters are no longer to be found here -- because it's largely a waste of time to even look at the NBA forum on most days.
