Best game as a Spur Fantastic stuff.

    25 points
    10 rebounds
    4 assists
    11 of 13 shooting
    32 minutes

Kudos Tiago. Hope he just proved to pop he deserves more minutes then Bonner and Blair and let's hope we see more of this. Especially as he was against a quality big man combo of scola and dalembert.

Good job man we need more of this

With Tiago capable of 25 and 10 it could make Tim's life so much easier because of the attention he will draw.

Splitter greatly fills a role that has been desperately needed since the Admiral's departure. Although I must say that Splitter didn't have his absolute best night defensively (he was still above average), he did prove he could be reliable in the low post offensively which warrants at least a few plays drawn up specifically for him. All in all, he beasted as the Rockets had no answer for him. He is one of the definite keys to changing this ball club into not only a defensive-oriented team, but also a team that plays inside-out offensively.

If Pop STILL cannot see Splitter's potential that is vital to the team's chances this season and STILL treats him as the 4th or even 3rd big after what we all witnessed tonight, well then Pop can go to .

"Assistant coaches" my ass. Pop is just surrounded by a whole bunch of yes-men and lackeys. Can't believe that anyone on the coaching staff hasn't come out and questioned Pop on his ways when it comes to Splitter.

Ignoring Pop for a second, I'm pretty damn excited about Splitter. The rate at which he's improving is amazing. Just a few weeks ago he was double-pumping against air and wasn't taking advantage of mismatches at all. Now he's pretty much destroying everyone.

If he keeps getting better at this rate, I don't even know what he could be a month from now

Rockets frontcourt isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse but it was a great game for Tiago with many more to come, as long as he gets his opportunities and touches. Imo he should be averaging as many minutes as his fellow Brazilians like Nene and Varejao, which is around 25-32 mins IIRC. Splitter is like a hybrid of those guys especially for the Spurs since he has to play defense, clean up the mess, and set great screens like Varejao, while also shouldering the offense like Nene does.

He has been really good the last few years years or so but I agree he has gotten even better and adapted to the nba. I wonder how many games he will have to sit now to get over himself...

Maybe it will bump him up to 22 minutes a game.

If he stops focusing on being a dominant post player and starts practicing traditional spurs big man jobs like long range shooting his minutes should e.

Yeah, he is that stupid to do that. He won't ride a hot streak, if Bonner got that number there he would start im and play him 40 mins a game.

Pop's going to make sure that doesn't happen. He can't have Splitter making him look stupid.

I was going to bring this up and you beat me to it...

None of coach Bud, Newman, Brown have anything to say to Pop other than "Yes"?

The next step is to learn how to play Tiago and Duncan together, you've got to give them minutes playing together for this to work, With TD's emphasis in the perimeter jumper this year I can't see why he can't play with Tiago

I know this might sound premature but seriously can you find 10 centers in the NBA better than Splitter? I mean without question better?

Yes, but only because those ten are getting minutes. So in other words, yes, it sounds premature. I hope we get a chance to find out. There was a time the Cowboys were reluctant to hand the ball off to Emmitt Smith, too.*

    *now THAT is premature.
