Quit throwing a in' tantrum and act your age.
No. Go have serious discourse with your buddies if you can drag them away from searching the nation for Luva.

playing the games is what would actually help his conditioning, taking time off would do the opposite dumbass. taking time off only helps injuries, not conditioning. kind of like how when your fat old ass gets off the couch and walks up the stairs, you're out of breath unlike when you were young and in shape.

---"It's just getting back in the groove," Nowitzki said. "We didn't have the training camp that we wanted to. After the Euros [the Olympic qualifying tournament last summer] I was just sick of basketball, but I probably took too long of a time off, so it's going to take me a while to get back into it."---

He was "just sick of basketball." Yeah, actually said it in broad daylight.

    What an asshole.

If you play 11 of 13 summers for your national team after a hard NBA season and never get a realy break, it´s ok to be sick of it at some point.

Dirks gotta rest his injured knee. It must be tough having to carry your team for a decade like TD or Dirk have, instead of piggybacking every year on Shaq and Pau

He (Carlisle) emphasized that the break is designed to help Nowitzki, who is expected to return Jan. 29 against San Antonio, get into better game shape.

“I couldn’t lift and run and do the stuff I needed to do because my knee was swollen most of the time. So this week my knee felt better and this next week gives me some time to lift and really get back to where it should be." - Dirk

Dude hasn't been able to move because of his swollen knee. Just because his injuries aren't advertised like the Queen's doesn't mean he hasn't been playing injured.

I'm just going by what has been said & written. Don't blame the messenger...read it---and then ing weep...

"Nowitzki, historically one of the most regimented workers in the league, has not shied away from the fact that he is not in typical game condition."

    Dirk quit.

It's tough to remain in compe ion shape. Most fighters, runners, bodybuilders, etc... don't do it year around. They train for the season to get back into shape, but these guys' careers would be much shorter if they trained like that all year long.

They had very short notice that they were even going to have a season, so you can understand (if you aren't jaded) how someone like Dirk could be out of game shape.
