The 49ers were not ready to win yet. Almost always the new team in the playoffs has to take some hard losses before they get to the Super Bowl.

Sign some players who don't suck at special teams and then your team can go to the Super Bowl.

I'm pretty sure Kyle Williams wasn't ready to win, everyone else was. Well except Harbaugh and Alex Smith with the piss poor play calling for pretty much the entire game.

Yeah the 49ers defense looked plenty ready to win. Good season for San Fran but the catch is that it gives Alex Smith another 2-3 years minimum as the starter before there's any chance San Fran gets a real QB. Smith is still an awful QB.

Hard to blame Smith for yesterday's loss. He's not a great QB, but he really didn't play that bad considering the awful weather and his awful WRs. They don't have anyone outside of Vernon Davis who can make plays in the passing game. Craptree is terrible, they cut an injured Braylon Edwards. Plus, the Giants defense was playing well this whole postseason.

But Smith isn't that good either. Before the last 4 minutes in the Saints game, the Niners only had 240 yards of total offense in that game. They couldn't put the Saints away after getting 5 turnovers. So yeah, he's not a great QB, and looked lost as well last night when it mattered the most, but they could use another WR.

Alex Smith blows and can only complete big passes when coverage is blown.

Regardless of how bad Alex Smith's receivers are outside of Vernon Davis or how good the Giants D played, Alex Smith didn't convert a single 3rd down. On several of them he rolled out of the pocket when it wasn't necessary and the protection was fine, and also gets rid of it too quickly while the receiver has no chance at picking up the first down after the catch. He also had several dump offs to players 5 yards away from him where he threw it was too fast and also as their feet.

The whole Alex Smith stuff is pointless. Giants couldn't stop the Niners rushing attack & they were getting plenty of pass offense from Davis. On the flip side Giants couldn't rush the ball & Eli was unable to drive NYG to a TD.

Point remains Kyle Williams (Mr.3 fumbles) was the only way the Giants could stay close with the Niners

  12. #12
The worse part was Williams' explanation

''I was trying to make a play....''

YOU STUPID FKN BRAINLESS MONKEY! You didn't have to make a play, they couldn't stop the Niners rushing attack and they couldn't drive on the defense

seriously? The 49ers had 123 total passing yards not including the long touchdown to Davis. Their offense played like . Gore was mediocre as well.

I find it odd that newcastlekeg claims the Giants couldn't stop the 49ers rushing attack and the 49ers were also getting "plenty of pass offense" yet they only scored 17 points with their only drive in OT being a 3 and out.

and yet they were about to put the game out of reach when Williams decided to brain fart

The point is, not only did Williams hand the game to the Giants BUT he got them back into the game in the first place

If not for the original fumble (his 2nd of 3 for the night) the Niners put the game away just like they did weeks before

Should we even talk about the ridiculous early blown whistle on the Bradshaw fumble? WTF was that bull

Basically it took 3 unbelievable flukes for the Giants to even stay in the game & then ''win'' in Overtime

What about the non holding calls, 9ers kept hold the Giants D-line all night & not 1 call!

Your really comparing a blatant fumble at their own 20 yard line with under 3 minutes left....to holding?

Kyle Williams doesn't fumble = Ball game
Bradshaw fumble is called = Ball game
Kyle Williams doesn't fumble a 3rd time = Ball game

It took 3 fluke, once in a decade plays for the Giants to win

NewcastleKEG continues to bring the re ed bads

Alex Smith does dog outside of 2 blown coverages, and the 49ers go 0-12 on 3rd down in the NFCCG at home--yet Niners fan says the better team lost?

We beat you before & we would have beat you again by 10+ points if not for Kyle Williams' 3 fumbles

Even if Kyle fumbles twice....Niners win. if the refs don't up the Bradshaw fumble.....Niners win

Monumental lose and it's no surprise to see the Giants celebrating like they are because they realize they got their heads knocked in twice by the same team and yet they are going to the "championship game"

2nd class franchises win multiple superbowls and consistently field compe ive teams?

Good luck seeing if the 49ers catch all the breaks next season too

    10-win ceiling next year

What breaks? All the road (east coast) victories and come from behind wins. Best defense since the 2000 Ravens

As everyone is saying, this is the least talented roster that Harbaugh will have, hence bums like the monkey Kyle Williams
