Fatah slams Republican candidates for anti-Palestinian remarks

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement on Friday harshly slammed US Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich for their anti-Palestinian remarks.

Dimitri Diliani, a Jerusalem-based member of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council, called on Romney and Gingrich to apologize for their “vulgar, hurtful and ridiculous remarks against our people.”

Diliani said that the candidates’ remarks “cons ute a totally unacceptable distortion of historical truth, the Middle Eastern politics and an evidence of racism.”

He added that the comments “prove that in the hysterical atmosphere of American elections, people lose all touch with reality and make not just irresponsible and dangerous statements, but also very racist comments that betray not just their own ignorance but an unforgivable bias.”

“The statements were a cheap way to win the pro-Israel vote,” the Fatah official said.

He said the comments “are certainly regressive. They are certainly an invitation to further conflict rather than any contribution to peace"

I kind of felt sorry for the poor dude. I could imagine him cringing each time Romney emphatically stated "Our FRIEND Israel"

this is the problem with GOP. they pander to irrational ideologies that are not only outdated but hurtful to others: evolution, environment, gay marriage, religion, abortion, immigration, muslim relations, Israel

Yes but it's easier to get people out of their chairs and voting based on HATE/FEAR. That's why Republicans are much better at running for office & winning

The problem in America is 2 parties. There should be 4,5 like in Europe

WTF do Paul, Romney & Newt have in common. Instead of running what they stand for, they are forced into a certain pigeonhole and forced to alter their ideology in order to get elected in a certain party.

z0sa, there were Polish Jews that helped out the Nazi's....that's a double whammy

Idiots exist everywhere but if you are talking about a third of an entire population voting for a party that wants absolutely nothing to do with them, then I have to laugh.

    Religion is dangerous
Voting based on religion is SCARY

    Really?

You agree with Hamas and the rockets?

This was about their government, not about the people. I'll bet plenty of people wish the fighting from their side would stop.

I'll bet that all Palestinians agree with lobbing rockets at Israel, like all Americans agree with president Bush's decision to attack Iraq.

Isn't it funny how Ron Paul didn't get to answer the question? The guy was basically told to go himself and his "invented" people. And Ron Paul is the racist? Are you ing kidding me? You've got Santorum, Romney, and Gingrich who basically hate Palestinians yet they aren't racist?

I could say the same thing except change GOP to Progressives. And use all the same examples.
