Year after year I keep hearing how Pop has lost it, and that he should be fired. I'm not exactly disagreeing with the majority here, but who would realistically do a better job with this team?

He manages minutes well, has the players' respect, and his teams are usually pretty disciplined. He's also rebuilding a team on the fly as his vets start to fade out.

Who out there could do a better job, in your opinion?

I would love to see Sean Elli0t as coach of the spurs. I think with with his basketball a en and personality he would be a much better coach and people would see just how good the spurs should have been all these years. As well as giving better interviews and being a much better rep of the spurs franchise.

Also been loving the job Scott Skiles has done in Milwaukee too. Year after year he shows that he can squeeze a uva lot out very little. I can only imagine what he could do with a better team. I'd replace Pop in a heartbeat with Skiles.

Part of your coaching standards involve how they interact with Craig Sager?

Yup, it shouldn't be too much to expect the coach to conduct himself in a cordial and affable manner on the cameras when they are representing the team.

You know Pop would ream out any of his players if they acted like he does in the media. The hypocrite's act is growing old, and tired.

Why not? He wants to replace a proven coach with a commentator, with no coaching expierence. Thats Tjastal at his finest tbh.

So you're saying Sean Elli0t's only knowledge is in commentary, and that he doesn't have any basketball knowledge to speak of that would make him a good coaching candidate?

Schtickk you can't be that completely stupid. Can you?

Look across the nba, at least half the coaches I'd estimate were former players. You have Avery ing Johnson still coaching. Every one of them got a start somewhere. Learn something.

Quote from the Mavs coach on Pop about him leaving the bench players in there for the last 19 minutes of the game :

    http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursna...ows-his-stuff/
“I’m not surprised at all,” Carlisle said. “I think he’s the greatest coach ever in this game. All their guys function in their system at a high level. (Gary) Neal isn’t a point guard, but he was in there making point guard-type plays and hitting shots. They were executing like crazy.”

So Gary Neal has one game of the year where he actually does an okay job handling the ball and all of a sudden Pop is the greatest coach ever.

    LMAO

Hmmm, whose opinion should I value more? Carlise, or Tjastal? Damn this is hard one to choose.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that the clever Carlislile deliberately gave an interstate rival false praises in a cunning attempt at deception. Of course, Pop probably is drinking his wine and feeling vindicated at this very moment.

You might check around the league, do alittle research about Pop's reputation as a coach. Pop's only a idiot on ST. But what do NBA people know about good coaches?

I think the first act by any coach would be to cut Matt Bonner.

It's well do ented nobody questions Pop in the local media if they value their jobs. As for the national media, who cares.

Anyhow, I look forward to your next boneheaded thread "Gary Neal should be the backup point guard, Carlslile says so!".
