Those suck and are easily the worst jerseys the San Antonio Spurs will have ever worn.
+1 the Spurs wearing 'Chaps' is a bad joke.

It extends across most professional sports teams to wear tribute, throwback gear for either the franchise or the city.

San Antonio could have kept the name Chaparrals, while they were leasing the team its first season in SA. However, the new management team decided to change it to the Spurs. The initial idea was the Gunslingers. They played the 1st preseason in SA with red, white and blue Spurs unis...then, for the regular season in 1973, they changed to the silver and black, offset number style with which we are familiar.

At least they were original. LA certainly isn't known for its lakes and you NEVER think of Jazz music coming out of Salt Lake City...tabernacle choir music, perhaps, but not Jazz.

Here is an example similar to the Chaps throwbacks. The Tennessee ans wore these Houston Oilers unis recently.

I plan on getting one - who do you think I should go for?

Bonner, Manu, Duncan (already have an away jersey though), Gervin, Sean E. or Bowen?

BTW, the Spurs starting lineup in 1973 after changing names was Joe Hamilton (5'-10"), James Silas (6'-3"), Harley "Skeeter" Swift (6'-3"), Rich Jones(6'-8"), and Bob Netolicky (6'-9"). That was basically a 3 guard lineup and nobody was over 6-9, so Pop wasn't the first Spurs' coach to "go small".
