ttttttt that sucks ass.
just a heads up in case anyone was deciding to get gas now or later. If you want to save 2-3 bucks, I recommend now.
I drove by a chevron this morning and the price was 3.29 per gallon.
Drove back by a little later and it's now 3.47.
pretty cheap actually.
Late in 2011, "they" were predicting that gas prices would rise throughout 2012.
iow, you ain't seen nothing, yet.
Come summertime you know it'll pass $4 and possibly $5 a gal.
The oilcos will have another fantastic year, $10Bs in profits, much parked off shore untaxed, while sucking down $Bs in taxpayer "tax expenditures", and will do everything, eg Kock Bros/API/etc, they can to keep gas guzzlers (eg, trucks, SUVs) on the road.
Peak oil and undersupply are their dreams, the sooner, the better.
The oil commodity traders also add 30%+ to the price of a barrel.
This is going to suck for vacation.
They do it because they know you'll still pay for it.
A big part of the rise right now is due to the expiration of ethanol subsidies.
That would be a price worth paying since it could drop our grocery prices back to normal levels.
bunch of broke s in here.
If only you could run a car on smiles and unicorn tears.
great point there. that alone would bring smiles and at worse its probably a wash in terms of how much you spend overall.
now if coffee prices would end their little rise....
damn remember when it was 4.60 a couple of years back? everyone was up in arms and the cartel was pretty much forced to lower its prices. i wonder if 4.50 is the breaking point?
lol that was back when i was driving a mercedes diesel and laughing at everyone pumping their gas when id drive up...diesel was so much cheaper back then..
now i dont have a car and take the bus or walk everywhere because my brother sold mine to fix his truck without telling me.
Maybe more people will start walking or running to work or get their fat ass on a bike.
What if they worked on an island? Or if they are a truck driver.
Iirc, somewhere around $5 is where the individual gas stations start to lose money on credit card purchases.
Yes, we all want to end up at work all sweaty and smelly.![]()
On top of that it could kill the gas guzzlers like 2008 almost did. LOL @ the prices used trucks and SUVs were going for then. You went on craigslist and people were practically giving them away.
Even better would be if the car companies start moving towards natural gas + hybrid technology to make trucks and SUVs affordable to drive as oil prices shoot through the roof.
A buddy of mine that works as a contractor and actually needed a large vehicle for all his stuff got a 2007 F250 for a song around that time. Pretty sure he was the only guy I knew who wasn't kinda pissed off that whole summer.
revolution coming to a city near you in 2012
Damn, corporate gas cards rule. I've not looked at gas prices in 4 years.
The is your boy doing?
