Definitely..
His presence is pointless on this current Mavs team IMO, outside of leadership..they should keep him on the roster, as an end of the bench player, maybe he'll find a role in the playoffs..
This team is much better without Kidd. 7-0 now.

yup kidd and the op should both retire tbh
Awful doesn't even begin to describe his season; I guess he wasn't expecting there to be one.
At least you agree with the Kidd part. You can never get too old for posting.![]()
Price you pay for a le
He was great for the team last year.
This year, not so much. I agree he definitely needs a heavily reduced role. Roddy has had 3 straight games of 7 assists which is nice to see, but more than that, the Mavs have such great scoring threats out of him and West, that it creates a whole different dimension offensively, and forces teams to defend the Mavs differently than before.
About the only situation where it seems like having Kidd on the floor is beneficial would be in late game situations when you go heavy on iso's with Dirk. Although with the scoring ability of the Mavs this year, even that doesn't seem to make as much sense as it does to have another guy who is capable of hitting open shots, dive cutting for easy baskets, and creating offense (VC, West, and even Roddy)
I used to think things like that (OP) about MJ and Kareem and Hakeem and Bird, but now I think, it, if the team wants to pay a million a year for a 40 year old man to dribble the ball up the court, that man has the right to accept that offer. What's he got to lose? Few people even consider the Wizards MJ, just the Bulls MJ. It didn't hurt his legacy to want to keep playing.
Even with all their (championship hangover, Dirk's injury, losing Chandler, etc.) Mavs are 14-8 and winning their division. Not sure why people think they're in panic mode.
Tbh this team has the potential to be scary IF
1. Dirk gets his together
2. Kidd gets his together
3. Odom gets his together
IMHO, if 2 of the 3 happens, Dallas can take the West again this year
then they'll be a ty team
Dirk definitely will.
And it looks like Odom is getting more and more comfortable, so hopefully he continues that way. Odom having his together will be more helpful to this team than Kidd getting his together IMO.

As long as Kidd gets his together to the bench where he belongs. No minutes with Beaubois and Carter starting. Terry and West coming off the bench. That's the best rotation for Dallas.
why not try allow odom run the point? dude has good handles...
Have to agree with bullsfan on this one, Beaubois/Carter starting with Jet/West off the bench is our best lineup. Kidd in blows this year dude's DONE. his corpse only had enough juice left to reanimate last year because it was his last shot at a ring. Soon as that final buzzer sounded in game 6 the corpse returned back to its grave...
shoulda retired along w/ peja imho. n!ggas been playin MUCH better w/o him, going 7- ING-0 with Roddy running the floor @ PG. kidd may be still useful at big times but hes definitely NOT a 1st team regular anymore.
This team is slumping late but I still think Roddy has been more positive to this team than Kidd. But I guess we'll see when Kidd returns if he shows more effort or is incapable of due to loss of speed and reaction time.
