link or bull
I read this morning that the Spurs are a team that has "significant" interest in him now that he is an UFA. While I think that there was a time, not that long ago in fact, that I would have loved this notion - I'm not sure I feel that way any more considering the emergence of some of our younger players. Could their really still be interest or is this another example of agents throwing the Spurs' name out there to drive up the demand?
I put the link in the opening post on the word "significant".
Here it is:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...tin_nba_020212
"Smith is an unrestricted free agent, and Chandler and Brooks are restricted free agents, likely to re-sign with Denver and Phoenix, respectively. Smith has significant interest around the NBA, including the Lakers, Knicks, Spurs and several more potential contenders."
This injured bench could use some extra fire power. spurs never get players like this, but it would be nice to sign and stash him in case more injures pile up, use him or.Chandler as depth like when Cuban signed Corey Brewer last season
His sister could also be the next Ms. San Antonio.
No thanks, not even if he'd take the minimum.
Hahaha I looked up his sister.. Girl is a beast whooping some Chinese ass.
I'd def take him at the cost he'd have to accept.
I'd take a flier on him if we can afford it. He has skills at the wing that no one on the team outside of Manu has.
lol San Antonio
lol nobody wants to go there
even if spurs have more money to offer with the mini MLE he would make more from bonus money from the lakers or heat. he aint coming. either is wilson chandler.
They're afraid of Pop. Seriously though, I've been to NYC, Chi, and LA. If I had money I'd be in one of those cities and it's a bonus that their teams are good. SA is a bit slower than those cities.
I've seen this movie before.
Spoiler: it was his secret Agent that threw in the Spurs name to drive up his commision.
NYC and L.A. are more attractive and popular cities to live in if you have money? S.A. is slower paced? I better write this down...
Would be a big pick up for LA IMO.
But we have a Six Flags AND a Sea World!![]()
Most people I talk to in SA won't agree. People think Fiesta and our ty clubs makes this city a fun party spot.
this clown is bad publicity
S.A. has a lot going for it. Not a bad place to live. Just not sexy and not a lot of variety like bigger cities.
Signing Smith could open a trade with one of the wings along with a big to get a starting PFC for Blair.
He isn't coming to San Antonio, and it doesn't matter anyway. We aren't winning a Championship with our without him. There is no logic in wasting money bringing him in. People need to accept we aren't playing for anything other than pride this year. Next year when Timmy's deal is up and he re-signs for less money and Jefferson gets amnestied maybe we can land a game changer, the money will be there. Until then everyone needs to stop with these stupid posts. We are going nowhere this season. It's unrealistic to even imply and mediocre FA will put us over the top.
I agree. I like it here. Barbacoa and Spurs basketball.
Although I will always rep San Antonio as my birthplace and hometown, I still enjoy living in Austin much more. That's probably not much of a surprise coming from a guy in his mid-twenties, though.
Plus if I want to hit the fun stuff in SA like Fiesta or the Guadalupe, it's only an hour or so away.
lol soccer.![]()
