I'd rather have him comeback after the ASG.
Manu just posted on facebook that he will return during the RRT. Which game do you think it will be? Or do you think it's all a lie and Pop will keep him out until after the ASG?
I'd rather have him comeback after the ASG.
Better safe then sorry...spurs are decent without him.
I hope Kawhi stays in the starting lineup when Manu comes back and RJ gets benched. Let RJ play with all the other one-dimensional players.
100% or not at all.
Manu is awesome even at 80% but as we saw last year it doesn't get you too far.
Its not like the Spurs are under 500. There is a bunch of scrubs team that Spurs can beat on this rodeo trip without Manu so just take your time.
I'd rather have him come back for the first game of the playoffs, only way to ensure he's not missing it...![]()
Hopefully he comes back by the Toronto game
Feb 14 @Detroit
He'll need a couple of warm up games before the WC leg of the RRT.
He was reportedly said to come back around February 14th, IMO his return will depend on how well the Spurs play in these upcoming games. If the Spurs can beat the Grizz and 76ers they have an easy path until the 18th which is when Manu will most likely return.
I have a feeling Kawhi will start at SG for a week or two while Pop brings Manu off the bench and gradually gives him more playing time. Manu still needs to get into shape and Kawhi has been playing pretty well.
I just know that whatever PT Manu gets will help the Spurs dramatically even if he doesn't score because the guy creates tons of shots with his passing.
Rather it be one of the lesser teams like Detroit or Toronto. I would not use him against PHI or LAC... let him get some confidence.
And yeah, it would be nice for the starting 5 to drop RJ instead of Kawhi... but then again, I'm not so sure on how RJ plays off the bench... starting 5 doesn't really matter, and I'd hate to hurt RJ's fragile confidence anymore.
The team is doing fine and we don't need him right now. I would hate for the young guys to loose their playing time and the confidence they're playing with right now. I'd rather have him wait until sometime in March to come back. That would give him enough time for him to get ready for the playoffs. In the meantime he can start practicing with the team though.
He'll be back between Feb 15th and the 20th.......
Can't wait for Manu time. Spurs have done great without him so far. As long as they can keep their head above water to start the RRT, it would seem that our best case scenario for his injury just might come to fruition....keep pace in the standings, and hopefully bring a healthy Manu back for the stretch run.
He'll be back by the 14th...book it![]()
They've done better then any of us realistically expected. If someone were to say after Manu and TJ got hurt, that SA would get wins against OKC, ATL, and POR... and play DAL to OT with the bench, then that someone would have been castrated.
3 wins out of 11 road wins is anything but being "fine". A 13-1 home record is great to cover crappy road play. I hope the team pulls it together on the road and uses the road trip as a spring board for greater things.
Anyway...

The sooner, the better. Pop won't clear him until every doctor says Manu is more than ready.
This...and it's exactly what I'd want.
As soon as Manu is ready to play, then he plays. Absolutely not going to sit him longer if he is ready to go. That's just stupid stuff.
Tbh I'm thinking he'll return either in Detroit or after the ASG. It'd be a waste to bring him back against a brutal WCF opponent. We want him to lose the rust, not get thrown into the fire at the get-go.
This is a bizarre season for road records of MOST teams. They mentioned it on one of the telecasts. Discount the home record, but soft peddle the road losses, too. It's really skewed both ways, and league wide.
manu needs to play right away and then be traded after he proves to the nba he is heatlhy for a player that is close to him
why spurs can not afford to pay someone close to what he is making and not have them playing in the posteason
