His receivers didn't do him any favors, but he definitely shoulders some of the blame
Man the Patriots really shot themselves in the foot.
The 2 biggest blunders being the 12 men on the field penalty when the Patriots recovered the fumble and Wes Welker dropping the open pass in the 4th quarter. Those were huge. But you gotta give the Giants credit. They got the job done.

Marvin Austin will be a stud DT. This kid has superstar talent written all over him. JPP will be even better. Blackburn will be better. Johnathan Goff will be back and this kid is going to be a special player as well. Prince Amukamara will be even better. If he resigns on the cheap, Terrel Thomas will add depth to a dangerous secondary. Add in another strong draft class, and the Giants will have a powerhouse of a roster.

Plaxico caused some serious distractions. Eli wasn't Elite at the time. They didn't have 2 top 5 wideouts. They also didn't know the responsibility of defending their le. This time is different. The Giants are going to have by far the most complete team in football next season. They are going to be stacked with talent everywhere. Just think, an already great front 4 will be even greater with Marvin Austin in the mix.

Honestly, that 2008 Giants team was ING RIDICULOUS until Plax shot himself and got suspended. They were 11-1 at that point and had weathered a brutal schedule up until then. W/o Plax (and Tyree) they had no more big playmakers in the passing game and their offense became easy to defend.
Plax torpedoed what was almost certainly another SB berth.
The 2012-2013 Giants will be miles better than the 2008-2009 team from any point that season. Man I can't wait for next year with a powerhouse roster!
