Blair hasn't been terrible defensively, and he only played 16 tonight. If he's still as ty offensively when Manu comes back, I'll be VERY concerned, but for now whatever he's given us has been enough to win games.

i dont really care whether splitter starts or not
the most important part is MP>blairs + bonner MP...and in during important stretches of the game where his needed, whether its to protect a lead or closing out quarters...
I agree it worked better last year when Dice was coming off the bench but this season Blair's not even playing as good as last year.
Worked fine for the regular season.
Pop thinks Tim and tiago play the same pos....this has been stated numerous times...won't start them. Just be happy with him finally kinda playing them together sometimes.
Just raising his stock until some team bites a trade.
If Splitter starts then we have to deal with more Bonner Blair combos.
As poor as Bonner/Blair is I think KL could offset that with his defense and rebounding.
Blair misses Manu to give him wide open looks to take advantage of. He'll be way better when he's back /thread
Starting Splitter leaves the 2nd team bigs as Bonner and Blair....do you really want that?

I don't think Pop is going to take Blair out of the starting lineup. What I think will happen is a reduction of minutes(especially during the 4th qtr of close games).
Pop is a in stupid asshole who should have retired long ago.
When will you all realize this and start calling for his head?
Pop cost this team a nice run-if not a le last season last year and this year he is doing the same with keeping Splitter on the bench...and worst of all...

Funny thing is, the poplovers were all excited about their regular season championshop last year and now the same dupes are all leading the cheers again. When will they learn?

If Pop refuses to start Tiago next to Tim which is likely the case.. i wouldnt be against Bonner taking Blair's place in the starting lineup.. provided Leonard keeps his starting spot when Manu returns.
One.. it will make up for the inevitable drop in rebounding with Bonner out there.. and two.. with Bonner out there with Leonard it will keep the defense honest and allow Tony to operate in the paint.
You do realize that only one team wins the championship each year? The Spurs have made the playoffs 19 out of the past 20 years. They have also won the championship four out of the last 13 years. Finally, only 8 different teams have been NBA champion in the last 22 years. So yeah I am getting excited every year.
Back in the 80's and early 90's even though the Spurs made the playoffs I think most fans knew that we didnt have a chance to win but now with Pop, Robinson, Duncan, Manu and Parker now part of this franchise I think we all believe we have a chance of winning.
The key to winning a championship this year is a healthy Manu not Splitter starting.

All that may be true...but what you are essentially saying is that we should be happy and satisfied and feel grateful.
Well, I appreciate everything that Pop did until 2005...and even some of his stupid from 2006 & 2007 can be overlooked, but since then he has gotten progressively worse.

When will his past accomplishments cease to protect him from scrutiny?
When will fans stop blindly believing and justifying all his stupid actions?
When will you finally tire of watching Pop be the reason the Spurs don't win a le?
