"Manu Ginobili has been out since early January with a broken finger, but the veteran guard for the San Antonio Spurs is expected to return within a week. The Argentinian guard has been cleared to get back to basketball, but he'll still be held out until he's back into basketball shape."

He better not pull an Anderson and come back with a pot belly and couple chin rolls.

I'd leave him on the bench to destroy opponent benches as well. Doesn't need to start to be highly effective.

Our bench is already doing that somewhat (Dallas game and Houston game), so adding that weapon to the bench

I'd like him to come of the bench, so he and Splitter learn to play with each other. I also hope that Manu's return brings Blair back to life. The two have good chemistry.

My bet is Saturday. Spurs will have 2 days off for the first time this season so will have a chance to get in a full practice, which would be a perfect opportunity to re-incorporate him back into the lineup and try to give him a good test run. Plus going against the Nets should be a good, easy game to try to throw him back into the water and get him some run.

If not Saturday, then most definitely Tuesday against Detroit.

Manu will be put back in the starting lineup. According to Sean yesterday, he was unguardable 1on1 and just needs to get back into game shape.

    x2.

Manu is the only Spur that signifiicanly makes the younger guys better. As good as Splitter has been, I think he's going to develop even quicker.

I suspect that's right, but I question the wisdom of Manu starting again. Tim and Tony really have it going right now, so he's not really needed with the starting unit, and with Ford still out I'd like to see Manu become the playmaker when Tony sits.

We've been riding Tim and especially Tony really hard. They need some relief and Manu can provide it. Not to mention how much better Blair plays with Manu out there. He might come off the bench for a game or 2, but ultimately we'd be better off with him starting. Our bench is playing incredibly well as it is and hasn't been a weak spot at all.

I agree Tony needs a break. So I'd bring Manu off the bench sooner, and give Tony longer rests. Fact is the big three all need to keep their foot on the gas to give us a chance, and Tony's the youngest by far. At least try it and see how it goes; the important thing is once he gets back we'll get even better. I don't really care how he gets worked back in.

The left hand of Manu spells DOOM for the opposition.
