It would help if players 4 through 14 on the roster weren't the worst supporting cast in NBA history![]()
I agree he is a prick that loves hating on the Lakers but he is a good writer. Besides he got his success as "the Boston sports guy" ...at least he doesnt hide it, he is like the openly racist guy ... I'd rather you be honest thean subversive with your hate.
It would help if players 4 through 14 on the roster weren't the worst supporting cast in NBA history![]()
Kobe started well, and then choked.
Gasol saved the Lakers chips tonight.
btw, the Garden has become Staples East![]()
Didnt say that. Obviously to get help there (pg/SF) we will have to sacrifice a big ...
What Lakers team even the 3 peat, that Kobe had that was stacked at EVERY positon?
Waiting.
Oh and good to see you around MVP ...![]()
You truly don't want us to answer that, right?
Wont go that far but our PGS were like 3 for 14 along with the bricks artest and Murphy threw up ...
no point in playing Troy over Mcroberts if Murphy can't hit shots ...
Yes, the Lakers in 2000 were not stacked at every position. they just had like the Heat had last year, two of the top 5 players in the game. and Kobe's spot in the top 5 was debatable in the first le of the 3peat ...definitive by the 2nd ring ...
You seriously cannot find any other team in NBA history where you are likely to get zero production from players 4-14 on a nightly basis. Anybody who's watched the Lakers this year can see this. If you haven't seen them, go look at the boxscores and they'll tell part of the story
The fact that this team is even 15-11 is a testament to Kobe's leadership and will.
Name another
Please do.
2000 Lakers
PG Harper/Fisher/shaw
SG Kobe
SF Rice/Fox
PF Green/Madsen
C shaq (scrubs)
A good team definitely fairly deep, no holes. But wouldnt say they were STACKED. Rice was past his prime by the time he got to us. In fact from a PURE talent standpoint the team before that one with Van Exel and Eddie Jones (no Phil) had way more athletic talent. Plus despite his faults we had Elden as a backup to shaq. THAT team was stacked, but our coaching sucked and there was too much redundancy ...
No bench, no pg's, no starting-quality sf's (although MWP has had a surprising defensive renaissance this season).
Madsen wasn't on the 2000 team...Horry was the backup.
John Salley was our backup C![]()
To be honest SHAq needed more help to ring. He needed a SG playing at almost Jordanesque levels to win his 4. Kobe won with a injured Bynum and Pau as his best wing men ...but don't let the facts gets in the way ...
You forgot the clutchest mother er in the history of the league.
Oh my bad. I thought his abortion of a dance was at the first ring ceremony.
Glen Rice was such a turd that year too...guy was AWOL for every clutch playoff moment.
Horry, Fish, Harper, Fox, and Shaw were some of the clutchest bunch of role players you'll ever find. Miss those s![]()
Fox was a really underrated part of those first two les, but he looked done by the time they went for their third. Cheap-ass mother er, but he destroyed the Spurs outside shooting in 01.
Sorry meant to put him in as the backup PF ...
Like I said that team was good REALLY good. Very deep. Wouldnt say they were STACKED. Fisher was not clutch really until the year after. when he dropped deuces from 3 on the Spurs. Haper pst his prime. Shaw was a castoff from Orlando who we brought in because PJ loathed small PG's ...
(amazing he learned to love Dfish)
The beauty of that team was especially by the 2nd team was everyone settled in their role. And the Kobe shaq feud though brewing hadnt not yet went nuclear ...but even if you say THAT team was stacked. And I guess for me, I consider the 85 Lakers or 86 Celts "stacked" ...I dont even consider the 72 win Bulls stacked to be honest. the last two Laker le teams were far from dominant ...
He was not as reliable in the 3rd run, but he came through when it mattered most. Played great D on Peja and Turk in Game 7 while putting up something like 13 pts, 12 rebs, and 7 assists.![]()
Just Harlem sucking you off in the POM thread, but I agree you were the MVP. I just don't have to polish you to admit it ...![]()
