Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston- two of the most talented individuals of
their generation. Both gone way too soon.

Back in the mid 90's I saw Blackstreet, but they were opening for New Edition (didn't care to see them tbh), but Bobby was in jail somewhere that night so he couldn't make it, and I couldn't help but wonder what the a pretty young talented girl like Whitney saw in that strung out bas . Now she's gone and he's still alive. What a ing travesty.
I met her back in 2002 when I worked the front desk of the Mandarin Oriental in Miami. She was hurt then, too. Twice during her stay she slipped by her handlers and scored crack on the street. We were ordered not to make eye contact (with most any famous guest), but especially her.
RIP...I hope there's a rock in heaven.
Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Christie?
It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity.
Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.
Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.
Not to take away from her fantastic rendition of the song...but The Greatest Love...was not written by Whitney...
What about Sri Lanka? Do you know anything about Sri Lanka?
Sad news. She was such a talent and was so hot back in her early years. I thought she was so sexy in The Body Guard. RIP.
something you dream of...negroid
I was a young boy in love with her in those Bodyguard days.
Sad news.![]()
They come in 3's. First Jackson & Winegarden.
I meant Winehouse.
All three did it to themselves too.
Sad that they let themselves become a product of their misfortunes and past instead of building on their potentially bright future and success.
Whitney Houston's the only sad case of the 3.
It was time for Jacko to be euthanized...his best days were behind him and now the children are safe. As for AW.........whatever, not like we lost an etta james there.
On "The Preachers Wife" Director Penny Marshal would yell out “CUT” before some of the songs were finished claiming we don’t need the entire song…Whitney would finish every song & fire back, sorry you just can not CUT The Holy Spirit…Penny learned to shut up…
Too bad the holy spirit had a crack addiction
Looks like things came to a crossroads

Crack is whack!
Whitney was WAY more done than Jacko. He could have had a career again had he recovered from the drugs. Her voice was damaged beyond repair from poor vocal discipline in her early years. Some of the stuff she was doing that sounded amazing was really damaging her voice.
She was booed offstage a couple of years ago on her European tour for "sing talking" her songs. It was all she could do. Her voice was literally shredded. I think ultimately, she just couldn't go on. She had gone through her money for drugs, and knew she could never earn any more. That dreadful Euro tour was her last gasp as a performer. Everyone in the US knew she was done as a performer.
I'm not a fan of her music but R.I.P.
celebrities who use their money unwisely don't get any pity from me.
rip random person who died today, who lacked talent but worked hard their entire life to a ripe old age, retired respectfully, had grandbabies running around and made a positive impact to everyone within that random person's life.
rip random person who contracted an incurable disease and fought it without self pity.
rip random kid who was in an accident and never lived past the age of 18.
the list goes on and on...
