Who cares? Duncan doesn't and it might be better in the long run.
Being an All-Star is meaningless. I'm sure Tim is probably relieved.
All NBA is much more important. Who gives a about the All Star game.
Duncan doesn't deserve it this year because of the poor start he got off to that had him barely breaking 40% shooting on some nights. Not to mention the West is insanely deep at PF. I guess you could make a good argument he should've gotten in as the reserve center. He's been better than Marc Gasol for the last 10-15 games.
According to the NBA stats page Duncan ranks 9th in the league in efficiency. He is an absolute joy to watch for the true basketball effecianado.
He's finally starting to come alive. I think Pop should gradually increase his minutes though (maybe a minute a month) to get him into game shape for the playoffs. The whole "managing minutes" concept has only seemed to hurt Duncan in the last three playoff runs, since he seemed to tire out at the end of games because his body was too acclimated to playing 30 min a game.
This goes back to the whole debate behind why they put players with better stats on bad teams on the All-Star team over those with slightly worse numbers on really good teams. There are one or two obvious reasons why a player on a better TEAM might have worse stats, because they are playing TEAM ball perhaps and playing less minutes??? Timmy was as a good a selection as Gasol if you are really thinking about who is deserving.

See above thread. Agree totally with this thread. Duncan more deserving than Dirk but Marc Gasol was a pick to placate a small market with a selection. This season has proved Gasol cannot cannot carry a team.
