Once upon a time Magic has 5 rings and Jordan had zero (approximately halfway into Jordan's career). Then the 90's happened. Barring some injury, LeBron still has a lot of basketball left. If he leads Miami to a le this year he will have led his team to a ring faster than Kobe did. Kobe's only led his team to 2 les. His averages are better than Kobe's and he will probably have better numbers than him in everything but scoring (and even that isn't out of the question). He will finish with more MVP's as well (he's already ahead and will get a 3rd this year if the voters are honest about it).

So Kobe is ahead right now but if you asked this same question about Magic and Jordan in 1990 the Laker would have won at that point too. Still too early to tell.
