Yeah just saw this, very good news.

Obviously if Prevot is skipping a track meet to visit / receive an offer he's a Texas lean. I don't think he'll make that March 10 visit to TAMU. GH inferred that Prevot will commit soon after being offered. I like Hall better, but Prevot works for me.

I know we can't go by the picture, but the rivals picture of JJ Gustafson reminds me of some of the guys we had blocking for Colt back in 2008. You know the guys that couldn't block but had really nice smiles.

I think size is a concern with Hollins. Great first step, but he's 6'1."

Horns expected to land Sealy recruit on Wednesday

    By Jeff Howe HOOKEM.COM
    Published: 7:41 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012

Wednesday is decision day for Ricky Seals-Jones, Sealy High School's four-star recruit. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound dynamic athlete will make his college choice known early that afternoon. Texas is the overwhelming favorite.

Seals-Jones, the No. 14-ranked recruit on the American-Statesman's initial Fabulous 55 list of the state's top prospects, was considering an announcement late last week, but decided to move his decision to this week.

The Longhorns received four commitments last week, after their first junior day — Dallas Jesuit wide receiver Jake Oliver, Fort Worth Arlington Heights offensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson, Whitewright quarterback Tyrone Swoopes and Arlington Martin running back Kyle Hicks.

For any Texas fans feeling uneasy about Seals-Jones, they shouldn't. LSU has been mentioned as a distant second, and the Longhorns' Feb. 12 junior day visit was a home run both for Seals-Jones and his family, sources close to his recruitment said.

Unless Texas picks up a commitment from another player before Wednesday, expect Seals-Jones to be No. 6.

    Other recruiting updates:

    • Robinson, who committed to Texas last Thursday, says he's not planning on taking any more recruiting visits.

"I see the class of 2011 and the class of 2012, and then I look at what our class can be," Robinson said. "I feel like I can go to Texas and be a part of a national championship. Texas has everything I want."

    • Even though Texas has a commitment from Hicks, don't expect the Longhorns to give up on trying to land DeSoto running back Dontre Wilson, the 5-10, 165-pound speedster who's No. 16 on the Fabulous 55.

As reported last week, Texas' first junior day was considered a great visit for Wilson. Another key for Texas is the return of head coach Claude Mathis to DeSoto.

Mathis, who has four former players on the Texas roster, is a huge reason why the DeSoto pipeline has been opened to Texas. He had taken an assistant coaching position at the University of Houston, but recently decided to return to DeSoto after a couple of months on the job.

Wilson visited Oklahoma State last weekend, and plans to visit Oregon during spring break; the Ducks are considered Texas' biggest compe ion in the fight for Wilson.

    • Harker Heights lineman Darius James visited TCU last week — the same day that four Horned Frogs players were arrested on drug-related charges.
Nothing has changed with James' timeline. He'll visit Oklahoma on March 3, then LSU, and then Alabama before he makes his decision. All signs, though, point to Texas as being the team to beat; the Longhorns have long had him as one of the top priorities for their class.

    • Among Texas A&M's junior day players last weekend were six recruits that Texas has serious interest in — Belton tight end Durham Smythe, Dallas Bishop Dunne offensive lineman Ishmael Wilson, Dallas Kimball defensive tackle Justin Manning, Houston Cypress Falls wide receiver Jacorey Warrick and Red Oak tight end Jeremiah Gaines.

The Aggies ended up getting six commitments, but only one from that group of Longhorns recruits — Wilson, the No. 11-rated prospect on the Fabulous 55.

Wilson was unable to make it to Texas' junior day on Feb. 12, and thus did not receive an offer. The Longhorns reportedly will not recruit him further.

Some JD2 updates. QB Kenny Hill will not be in attendance which was expected. DT Vincent Taylor has confirmed he will be in Austin and ATH Chevoski Collins is also on board. Collins has received numerous Junior Day invitations but he said Texas is the one he's been waiting for (remember he's the cousin of DE Cedric Reed). He mentioned that once Akina made the call, he was in.
