In terms of salaries on the court -
Spurs have fielded a ulative salary of $19 mil (approx) versus the Blazers' $56 mil (approx ) today
..The Spurs' today could be the cheapest lineup in the league in a game this season!
really ... when was the last time Bonner only played 5 minutes in a half? with Duncan and Splitter available he plays like 10-12 minutes a half

Kobe had 10 turnovers vs PHX the other night
Now THAT was possible
Dude I was joking about that earlier. They don't have to foul to keep us from scoring.
good point ... Pop would not play him this season if TP, Manu and Ford would be available
With 20-20 hindsight, Isaiah Thomas of the Kings!
And RJ takes up about half of that, yet is doing absolutely nothing. So basically it's $9mil against $56mil. Astounding!
I think it had something to do with RC and the Longhorns coach.
lol if dawson gets more minutes in one game, then what corey has gotten all season...
I remember thinking it seemed like a "favor" pick. Or maybe it was just a comfort level with him and his maturity.
24 points tonight
Nah there've been some missed calls all over. Just look at the free throw differential: 3-4 from the Spurs to the 13-15 from the Blazers, and that's with them chucking threes like no tomorrow. I know it wouldn't make much, if any, difference, but it still boggles the mind.
A quote from "Sporting News on Draft Picks for 2011"
29. San Antonio: G CORY JOSEPH, 6-3, 185 pounds, Texas, Fr.
What does Joseph do well? He isn’t fast, isn’t quick, isn’t a great shooter. He’s not especially creative. He wasn’t consistently able to take command of games when the Longhorns needed him. It’s understood that the Spurs have a terrific track record of acquiring quality personnel, but even Rory McIlroy yanks one into the woods now and then.

...against the Heat..
granted..against Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole, but still!
yeah he was the 60th pick of the draft, the last player taken in the 2nd round
so you can't blame the spurs for missing out on that one
What was the purpose of posting this? I watched Cory Joseph his entire time at Texas, I was well aware of what he could do as a player
Who was available after him that we should have grabbed
I agree with you. No point blaming the Spurs for swishing with Cory Joseph.
They had to find a replacement for George Hill for a backup to Parker and had to make a choice from the remaining PGs in a draft which was weak on PGs. And then they did a good move in getting TJ Ford, who got injured unfortunately.
Having said that ..for a 60th pick, Thomas has been rather good.
He should have been a late second recond pick...47th or 48th..Not even close to being a first rounder.
Chandler Parsons

I don't think "who was available" is the point, but perceived value. Spurs took him in the first round when he was a fringe 2nd rounder is the point. His relationship with RC (or RC's relationship with the coach or whatever) seemed to play a larger role.
It's not that there were a bunch of players there who are so much better, but that nothing about CJ warranted a first round pick. Just trade it for a future pick or something.
Some times I don't mind games like this so we can see some of the youngsters. I've liked Leonard's effort tonight. I'm not seeing anything redeeming in Anderson.
For everyone hating on Cory Joseph--a genuine no bull question:
Who was left on the draft board after Cory Joseph that is playing so well you would want him on the spurs this season
8(38)Houston (from LA Clippers)Chandler Parsons6-10
38th pick Chandler Parsons (starting for Houston)
As of tonight? Damn near everyone who got drafted after him. Specifically, Isiah Thomas comes to mind.
Selby has had good moments as well.
No kidding. The Spurs need to stay on the lookout for undersized point guards coming out of Washington...Didn't lil Nate Robinson come outta Wash
