basketball as two sides offense and "defense" and please don't sit there and say the 2003 spurs were a great team. half the team were tired old bags the other half were unproven young players.

Malone was nearly twice the player Duncan was on offense. scored tons of more points at a much more accurate rate, was the go-to guy in the clutch, and got his teammates involved more. Duncan hasn't been an elite offensive threat in 8 years. Malone was an elite offensive threat until he was 40 years old.

Duncan has always been terribly overrated on defense, however he does get a slight nod over Malone in defense. not by much though.

I think this says otherwise I agree on offense, but not on Defense! Duncan is and was light years ahead of Malone in that department.

well son with that simple and silly argument that so many of you love to use, then according to your logic that means Horry is better than Duncan ...

If you ask Charles, the 2nd best PF ever, Duncan is 1st, he's second and Malone is 3rd. Sloan agrees that Duncan is 1st. When Duncan was asked, he said "4 rings, got!"

CRFOL @ the thought of a guy who made Webber look like Horry in the clutch being the GOAT at the 4.
