I recently got a 55 inch 1080 tv and I noticed the movies looks too live and I don't like it. It doesn't have that movie grain overlay that we typically see on movies you know what I mean? I don't mind it on sports or news channels but it just doesn't look right for movies. How do I solve this issue? I have it on theater mode but it still looks too live, just a little darker. Any other settings or custom numbers out there?

lol I'm serious and I know it sounds weird. The movies looks like I'm watching some porno video. That "movie overlay" isn't there anymore. Movies should look sharp but not like you are watching news type live.

Yeah! That's exactly how it looks, like a soap opera. That doesn't bother you? Is it just a matter of getting used to it?

Record a movie on your camcorder, the transfer to DVD or whatever media then watch it. That should reduce the quality a bit. Or you can just give me that TV and use your old one again.

If it's a Samsung, then there is a setting called AMP(Auto-Motion Plus) that you need to tinker with or simply turn off.

What I read is to drop the hz to 120, for movies and leaving it at 240 for faster action sports.

Don't know why you're being a to me but watching cars pass by is not that interesting and a clear as possible view of landmarks on my tv will have to do until I can find the time to see it in person.

Also there's nothing wrong in trying to get your money's worth.

honestly, when I first bought my HDTV a few years ago I saw one of the pirates of the caribbean movies in 1080p on a tv at the store and the background made me a little ill because it looked too real, so I know exactly what you mean.

I find it funny when people complain about like this, why buy a T.V. that does all these things if you're not going to use it?

Isn't it just a setting you can turn off? I'm fairly certain it's just one setting.

My HDTV is making me blind

I ficking hate those commercials that have a huge white background

An almost all-white bright screen, and in the middle, in tiny characters, the slogan/motto

    that

I understand exactly what you are saying. It has to do with LCD screen having a high contrast ratio and sometime a low processing depth.

I have a SONY55" and it has a "Movie mode" button/setting that fixes this. look for something similar.
