Think there is a chance the Spurs could ship RJ and Anderson to ATL for him?
Then again, would we want that type of player on our team? Discuss.![]()
there are not assets the spurs can give. unless the hawks really like low first round picks.
I dont understand why people want to fix what isnt broken. I think the only guy tradeable is James Anderson, if he is traded I hope its for a decent draft pick.
or gay small forwards.
Why do people keep thinking that we can trade RJ for a top tier player?
and I mean that in a non-derogatory way.
RJ is a really good player who is just in a system that doesn't fit. He'd return to all star form with Atlanta.
RJ is definitely broken. Problem is no team would ever trade for him.
I'd love for the Spurs to after this guy, but we would have to get a third team involved because we don't have the appropriate salaries to make a trade.
RJ for Dwight Howard. You think the Magic would do it?
It would probably take something like Parker+Blair or Parker+Leonard (minimum), since the Spurs would need the Hawks to throw Teague in the deal to fill the hole left by moving Tony. Not sure whether I do that trade or not considering the level Tony is playing at right now. If the Hawks ask for Splitter in addition to Tony then it's a definite no-go though.
Unless Manu is included in the offer, the Spurs have no chance at trading for Smith.
There are teams out there that would love to have him with FAR more desireable assets. Chicago could offer Boozer & Gibson, for example (another shot blocker to put next to Noah), which is a far better deal for ATL than RJ and Anderson.
The Hawks would jump at a Parker-Smith deal straight up, but the Spurs would never do that. Teague could be thrown in, but he seems to have regressed this year after his strong showing in last years playoffs. Simply, this trade won't happen unless we find a third team.
at thinking OP is serious. Use the blue text son!
Yeah, I'm not a Teague fan either... just thinking what could be a reasonable offer. To do a 3-team deal, what point guard would you target to replace TP?
That would be tough. Parker for Smith+Teague? Would be an offer the Spurs would have to consider but ultimately I think the Spurs say no. But that's the type of offer it would even take for both sides to consider it.
Done deal. Jefferson, Anderson and Blair for Josh Smith.![]()
The Hawks snap-accept, and the Spurs turn it down.
Or 6 foot 7, brown-eyed, mustache-less, light brown-skinned shooting forwards.
and I mean that in a non-derogatory way.
