Who would want Amare at all right now? Max dollar deal for production and no defense.

Amare is way overpaid for his skill set, first of all. That said, paired with Lin he is much, much better than Melo theoretically. Amare is honestly one of the best pick and roll big man scorers I have ever seen, when he was with Nash he put up crazy numbers. Theoretically, pairing with Lin and building chemistry SHOULD lead to somewhat similar results.

Now, this trade is dumb, obviously, because the Knicks just sunk a ton of dollars into the C position in Chandler.

All that said, one last thing about the Knicks possibly trading Amare:
It would be a ing shame. When the super summer of free agency was upon us, Amare went to NYC on his own before anything else was settled. Without him they would have come away with nothing. Then, and how quickly people forget, Amare opened last season playing out of his mind ball. Everyone picked him as their first half, or especially first third, of the season MVP. He elevated that team and carried them on his back, and yet still welcomed Melo with open arms and ceded the spotlight to Anthony. Since then, as we all know, Carmelo has essentially ed up. If Amare is the one who ends up getting shipped out of town, as there has been some talk about, it would be one raw deal. I'm not an Amare fan or an Amare hater (he seems to be breaking down some and his defensive game blows, but thats not hating thats fact), but man, if they traded him after all he did in his short time with the Knicks, that really would be a royal ing.
