"Tim Duncan goes coast to coast for a slam dunk to pass Clyde Drexler for 25th on the all-time NBA scoring list."
Congrats Timmy!
very nice
the Wizards' defense lol
His next 2 milestones in striking distance for him are passing Shaq for 2nd place on the career doube-doubles list, and passing Paul Silas on the career rebounds list.
He's likely to pass Silas and Dikembe Mutombo just about simultaneously. He needs 22 to pass Silas and 24 to pass Mutombo. After that, he'll only be about 190 rebounds behind Charles Barkley.
If Duncan averages close to 14-15 ppg for roughly 3 more years, he can break the top 10.
Til the wheels fall off!![]()
Interesting side-note: If Duncan retires with the Spurs, he will be the ONLY player in the top 25 in rebounds to play with one team his entire career other than Bill Russell.
Just shows how unique of a player he is.![]()
Hard to see Duncan playing another 3 years. I see another year or two, max.
Considering all of the great scoring he did, it is amazing to me that he will not end higher.
As far as rebounding goes, if he needs 22 and 24 to pass silas and mutombo, he will do that in 3 or so games.
If he needs 190 rebounds to pass barkley, he should pass him if he stays healthy. Duncan is averaging 8.5 rebounds a game. With about 26 games to go, if he were to play in every game left (unlikely) he will get another 221 rebounds. That is enough of a buffer that if he skips about 3 games, he should still get it.
Q: I assume that is regular season rebounding only?
Loved the way he passed Drexler on the list ... Wizards really looked more like the Washington Generals in that sequence ...
When he passes Barkley I hope the game is on TNT. Extra Sweet
16 points, 19 rebounds, 5 blocks
that scoring lists dont mean when jamison is going to break the 20k mark also....
20k scoring isnt the plateu no more
Great, we get rid of boy and someone has to post a video with him in it.
