Tony is ballin'. It was a beautiful game indeed. Good thing I recorded it and can watch it again.

Bonner's play wasn't completely awful. I don't think anyone here thought he might hit that wide open three when the Spurs were down 1.

Dare i say TP getting better with age...never imagined he would be putting up 20+pts and 10+assist consistently...he needs to be in the top3 for MVP
It's not surprising when you consider he's only 29, and yet he's played 11 seasons in the NBA (not to mention his pro career in France). Young, veteran PG, arguably the best at his position, playing alongside a future hall of famer. That's an MVP formula.

This was a great game (alarming starting line up like I said before the game started and terrible defense), but I'm still shocked Tiago gets so little time.

Would you guys settle for that closing 5 if it means no Bonner on the court?

Bonner cannot be on the court in the last 5 minutes of any game.

He wasn't Bonner playoff horrible but his play still didn't deserve 18 mins of playing time.

I was actually surprised he played that much. I thought he played a lot less than that but ol Pop was able to sneak his ginger in there i guess.

It's very possible that Pop might use this lineup as his closing lineup, and I might want to use it too if it means no Bonner out there in the last 5 minutes of the game.

I wanted it with Tiago and Kawhi, but I'd probably rather this lineup than any with Bonner.

Tim, Tiago, Kawhi, Manu, Tony is our best closing lineup. But if we absolutely neeeeeeed to be fast then take out Tiago for Green. Not Neal, he chucks too much.
When Neal hits he's a cold blooded killer. When he misses he's a chucker. He's out there to shoot. People need to understand he's looking to shoot, and if he doesn't Pop will pull his ass.

Bonner can't handle pressure, which is why he fails so badly in the playoffs. And of course, when you're guaranteed minutes, what incentive is there to improve?

Pop is worried so much about being fair to Bonner that he doesn't care. I really don't understand it. Bonner might have spent alot of time getting rotations down and understanding the system but when a better player comes along it makes sense that they play more. That's fair to the team.

I was able to watch Kobe's 81 point game for the first time yesterday and Bonner started the game for the Raptors. He didn't guard Kobe, but that makes me dislike him even more that he was involved in letting someone score the second most single game points in NBA history.

Not interested in Bonner being on the court in the last 5 minutes ever again really.

    I don't follow...

Bonner was on the team that gave up 81 points to one player. So that means what about Bonner - that's he's not a defensive stalwart? We all know that.

Bonner is NOT a bad player. Let me repeat that - Bonner is NOT a bad player. He's a role player and a fairly decent one at that. To understand why he plays the minutes he does would mean you understand the Spurs system and the confidence a coach can have in his players.

Does Bonner get too many minutes - yes and no. Some games he does, when he's off. When he's on, he probably should play more. The Spurs are 1st in the NBA in 3pt % at .395. That's 40% from the 3 pt line!!!! Bonner is a part of that and is currently 7th in the league shooting 45%. And as important as the 3 pt shot is to the Spurs success, Bonner is a fairly significant part of that.

From NBA.com, the 2nd best +/- for 5 Spurs players at one time is Duncan, Bonner, Parker, Green and Neal with a score of 24. Bonner is 2nd on the team (behind TP) in individual +/- w/ 167.

I really don't get all the Bonner hate . . . some games he's not very good. In the playoffs, his production wasn't the same. But it's not like he's some 4th string scrub.

Instead of bashing him, watch how well he and the team does when he's in the game and compare that to when he's out of the game.

    @spurs

Tony Parker’s 31-point effort was his third consecutive game with 30+, the first time in his career he has scored 30+ in 3 straight games
