Yea, that was pretty bad....
Kobe obviously saw the efficient shooting by Pau and Bynum and knew the law of averages was about to kick in so he didn't want either of them to ruin such efficient performances and he took the hit in shooting numbers. What a great leader to bite the bullet for his teammates. I suspect he wanted his teammates to use the extremely efficient shooting performances as a confidence boost for the rest of the year.
