I think the booing was not because of Ellis but on built up frustration on the turmoil that the franchise has been in for DECADES.

Bunch of pathetic fans. I mean sure, SA fans booed Stern in SA but every boos that jewbag. Lacob is actually trying to build them a team, I can't believe anyone would be so butthurt over trading Monta Ellis for Bogut who will make them a much better team once he's healthy
Players get booed. Owners should/can too.

Booing your owner is one thing. Booing your owner when he is trying to deliver a speech in honor of your franchise's legend retirement is another.

agree, but he was only booed when he was speaking. They appreciate Mullin no doubt. When is there another chance for true fans to show their angst against their owner.

He had to know it was coming. You stand in the center court, you going to feel the wrath lol

I would boo Red McCombs in that situation; difference is, he deserves it for being cheap and wrecking one of the great young cores in the NBA at that time. You can't call Lacob cheap when he gave David Lee that contract and paid through the nose for the Spurs pick.

LOL that one of the biggest assholes in NBA history is the guy who has to scold those re ed fans.
He does give off that vibe ...he was BEFORE my time so I cant speak much on it ... but his sons dont come off nowhere as arrogant as he does. ...
Ok I take that back Jon does, Brent must take after his mom ...

One wonders how spurfan would react had Manu Ginobili been traded. Can you imagine? There would've been god damned riots.

"No you're wrong spurfan would've stayed classy and cheered Peter Holt for getting rid of an injury prone player "

Totally classless, and a lack for respect for Mullin.

Can you imagine Spurs fans booing whoever the owner will be when one of the Big 3 jerseys get retired? Un- ing-believable.

Props to Mullin for keeping his composure and being classy. Obviously that franchise didn't deserve him.

That's the thing though. This was Chris Mullin's night, and instead he tries to make his big speech AFTER Mullin's. The announcer was at fault as well when he said "saving the best for last."

Lacob was already in hot water as is w/ the fans for some of his decisions...no need trying to become the big shot on Mullin's night.

If I were the owner I'd pack up and leave town. Those assholes don't deserve a team. You don't boo the owner while he is honoring one of your franchises greatest players. Trailer trash fans.

Yeah, but as another poster pointed out, what other forum are they going to connect with the owner and have it heard by everyone. I'm sure Mullin understands that, and it will be water under the bridge in years to come.
