So sad to hear. Thought they had a solid relationship, but thanks for the answer.
Whatevs....if Pacer win one during of those deep playoff runs theyd have players like Dale Davis # retired. Same .

Yeah, Mark boyle elaborated: "Not minimizing BB's contribution, but the rafters [are] for great players. Period."
Boyle elaborated to me "the rafters are reserved for the great"
Pretty sure Mark Boyle answered that question after EricB (T Park) asked him on Twitter
Just noticed that.
I agree.
#12
Key words being "great players." Something the Indiana Pacers havent had for a really long time.... #Truth
Yeah he answered me... Relook
I thought maybe he was referring to Bruces rep around the league for being a dirty player. In that case I cant really blame him and wouldnt it call it hating, I dont think most people realize how big of a role Bruce really played on the team. Kind of ashamed of myself for it, but up until a year or so ago I didnt agree with his jersey being retired for the same reasons tbh.![]()
I told Mark Boyle to go suck a fat and worry about his own piece of team.
Who cares?
Pretty sure Mark Boyle has watched maybe 2 Spurs games in the past 10 years.
Then you yourself didn't understand how huge Bowen was if you even disagreed with the 12 going up.
Boyle doesn't understand what cons utes greatness, tbh.
In 2003 after then championship I said to some friends if they stay together all 5 of the starting 5 from that team will get their numbers retired.
Bruce's 3 > Reggie's 0 tbh, fwiw, imho, ibtl, lol
Anyone who watched the Spurs throughout the last decade often thought of Bruce as part of a "Big 4" in a sense along with tim/tony/manu.
It was a no-brainer that his jersey would be retired, tbh.
At the time I didnt.
I always admired his defense but the Spurs defense disappearing after he left opened up my eyes to just how important he really was.
For the record, I totally agree with #12 hanging in the rafters.
For those who don't though, the chance that Bowen's # wouldn't get retired dropped to 0% once the Spurs hung Avery Johnsons 6 up there. That was something I didn't really like. If that wasn't hanging up there than you could try to make a case that 12 didn't belong.

Why?
Starting PG for like a decade, all-time assists leader for the team (at the time), championship-winning shot, loved off the court in both locker room and community, etc. Little General deserved it tbh.
6 belongs up there just as much as 12's.
That was the point. If you put 6 up then you definitely put 12 up.
aj does NOT deserver his number
Your point of denigrating 6 is what I'm having issue with.
You don't deserve a keyboard to use a computer but hey here we are.
