The Hornets' Jason Smith earned a Flagrant 2 foul and an automatic ejection after this hard foul on Blake Griffin, but earned the admiration of New Orleans fans on his way out.
While Smith apologized later to Griffin, he can still expect a fine and/or suspension after giving Griffin the most vicious hit since getting judoka'd against Morgan State in the 2009 NCAA tournament. New Orleans went on to win 97-90. [CST]

son, that was a made move by Jason and the only reason he's not getting banned for life is that Stern owns that team.
I bet those fans went out looting as soon as they were done applauding... god bless.
lol the funniest part about it is that it wasn't even that hard of a hit. Griffin is soft as . he was talking the entire game and mad about getting blocked AT LEAST 3 TIMES by both Smith and Kaman ... he got what he deserved.
Son, I give props to Jason Smith for baptizing Griffin. Now I don't believe players should be tackling eachother, but Griffin had it coming.
That was one of the most pussiest moves I have ever seen in NBA play
Defiantly the highlight of the year for the Hornets.
Blake Griffin is a little made got just like CP3...
Getting what he deserved would have been blocking one of his dunks badly or something. Pushing him like a little so he cant dunk on you makes you look pussy.
What other highlights did this one defy?
and son both Kaman and Smith blocked his dunks in tonight's game. he ran his mouth to both of them all night long pissed off about it which led to him being put in his place in this video. research the facts before spewing such ignorant nonsense.
What other highlights did the Hornets Fans give a standing ovation for?
well son hopefully we get another one this Saturday after Beli takes out Duncan's knees.
son he asked for it
I will admit doing research on Hornets games isn't my forte. As it shouldn't be. That being said, talking shouldn't lead to potentially injuring another player.
James Posey tried but it didn't work, sorry son!
lol pussifying America one step at a time right?
son look at the hit. he didn't go for his knees or anything like that he simply just pushed him and Griffin flopped and made a big spectacle out of it. NBA players nowadays are choking vaginas. if that had been Karl Malone, or Charles Barkely, or even Tim Duncan in his prime then they all would have gotten right up and charged Smith ... but not Griffin, he chose to lay around and practice his acting.
Its not the hit or force of the push that makes the move a pussy move. Its the act itself that makes the move pussy. Players talk to one another all the time. I hate Kobe Bryant's guts, but when a player talks to him he puts up 40 on him. Jordan was the same way. Smith's ass pushes a player down so he cant duck on him. The greatest revenge is success. If Smith wanted to show up Griffin he should have done it with his game.
Will Stern suspend his Smith, thus hurting the Hornets and the resale value of the team?
In the best interest of the 29 other owners, Stern cannot suspend Jason Smith.
So, you are condoning hurting a player on purpose just like another New Orleans team?
Wanting to take out a players knees and to possibly end a player's career?
The Hornets beat the Clippers, and this is what you hang your hat on? You are pathetic.
Hard hit or not that was low class by Smith, and the fans for condoning it, they must be used to it watching the Saints it guesslol the funniest part about it is that it wasn't even that hard of a hit. Griffin is soft as . he was talking the entire game and mad about getting blocked AT LEAST 3 TIMES by both Smith and Kaman ... he got what he deserved.
A New Orleans player trying to injure another player and the fans loving it...That is new![]()
I'm disappointed; if Smith was real New Orleans he would have busted a cap in Blake's ass and then taken his watch tbh.
And then the Lakers lose the game![]()
Not only was it a flop but Griffin showed how soft he is by rolling on the floor like a little . Smith didnt make a play for the ball and deserved the ejection, but considering how big and built the ginger is no way should he have gone flying like that. Someone with a similar build, like the Mailman wouldve absorbed that hit like nothing. The least ginger couldve done to save face was get up and charge Smith ala Nash during the Horry hip check but he didnt even do that tbh.
