Um, no.Danny Green is the only guy in yrs that came from the D-league and made a impact.
To be fair, their opponent was pretty terrible -- but he his last game against quality compe ion was good as well. Getting a lot of confidence.

Um, no.
28 games in the NBA.
17 in the D-League.
The Toros played Maine again but it looks like CJ had another good game.
17 points, 7-9 FGs, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, +36

I wonder if Joseph regrets only playing one year at UT now? The guaranteed money of his 1st round contract probably made it a positive move for him. Still, I'm convinced a CJ with three or four years of college basketball under his belt would have been a much more ready commodity for the team that drafted him. As it stands now, the Spurs will probably pay for the development he needed at UT-Austin and will lose him to some guard-starved NBA team in a year or two.
Now I see in the SA Express News today that not only J'Covan Brown, but also Myck Kabongo are looking to go to the NBA. I understand Brown considering the move to the NBA - he truly can be an undersized shooting guard as he has all kinds of offensive skills. He has three years of college experience and has really improved on the court - he is also a more mature person. He was way too volatile when he first got to the Longhorns.
Kobango is simply not an NBA player right now. Just because you are a McDonalds All-American doesn't prepare you to play against 25-30 year olds who have as much or more ability and years of experience.
Quite honestly, MK is still figuring out how to play college ball. Rick Barnes may have to reconsider signing guys who are more interested in playing 30 college games and leaving the program as opposed to guys actually interested in developing as college basketball players. I don't see the benefit of losing 2-3 guys to the NBA draft every year - especially the one and dones.
Kevin Durant was such a great player that is one guy you look at differently.
Other guys, even really talented ones like Tristan Thompson need more time in college to hone their skills.
Unfortunately, the NBA was only able to have a one year college requirement because of the NBA players association/agents/etc threatening legal action.
I think college basketball AND the NBA suffers because of this situation.
Wow, Jeremy Lin? Ramon Sessions? Marcin Gortat? Alonzo Gee? You gotta be kidding me lol that is not even close to the full list tbh...
Yes, in all honesty, the level of talent in a d-league game is superior to most colleges...
I think everybody gets how you hate Joseph. Personally, I think he will just be alright. Not expecting him to make the strides that tony made after his rookie year. You never know though.
I've seen D-League games as well and there are excellent players in that league. There are probably 20-30 heavy rotation players NBA who spent a year or so in the D-League.
I may be wrong about this, but Anthony Morrow, the guy who lit up the Spurs a couple of nights ago with Minnesota spent a decent amount of time in the D-League a few years ago. He was a former Spur, actually.
I hope Cory Joseph can stay in the D-League this year and possibly even next year. I still have hope that he can turn into something.
I've got to think that R.C. Buford envisioned needing to get some legitimate seasoning for CJ in the D-League. I hope the Spurs give him 3-4 years in the program to get where he needs to be. They seem to have pulled the plug already with James Anderson after only two years.

Nobody is say that Joseph is going to be the next big thing, but with the level of expectations that you have about him, you might be eating crow sooner than later tbh...
Nice. Almost certainly too late for him to make the roster before the playoffs, but it looks like he's going to bust his ass trying to make a case for himself.
He's looked raw, but IMO he hasn't looked like this horrible never gonna be anything player. With summer league, offseason, full training camp, and we may see improvement. The kids only 19. Yeah he's not tony Parker at that age but Parker is a one a million talent obviously. Patience.
He's 19. Wtf is the rush... He's going to be a backup. He's not supplanting Parker...
Sure you did.
JA's injury seemingly took a year out of the Spur's investment in their young hopeful.
Cory's development thus far looks okay to me, given his age and health.
I am trying to be nicer to people on message boards but if the texastea guy doesn't make it difficult to not go off.
Lol. Goosefraba my man.
My time away helped me fix that.
Multiple times. I know for a fact he was NBDL Player of the Month in January 2012.
Hes actually 20. Turns 21 this offseason (August).
So I'm not the only one?
The move paid off, hope he stays in Toros and comes back next season.
