Meh. Kawhi is good, but I still look more forward to Stephen Jackson and Manu matchups. I think Kobe would find a way to draw fouls on Kawhi in the playoffs whereas it would be more of a chess match againt sj and manu.
Anyone else looking forward to this match-up?![]()

Spurs will be fine against Kobe, Kawhi/Jackson/Ginobili and maybe even Green should be able to defend him successfully, barring ref interference..he's still good enough to have big games every once in a while, but I'm not worried about him in a 7-game series..
He's an inefficient jump shooter, at this point..
If the Spurs and Lakers meet in the playoffs, and LA goes to Kobe as it's first option, then that's an immediate moral victory for the Spurs..
Im looking forward in Sjax kicking kobe's ass more.
Agreed. He won't beat us.
Their 2 seven footers just might, though. But I suppose I'm simply outrightly stating what you're not-so-subtly implying.
Kawhi is a good defender and all, but let's not get carried away here. Kobe will DESTROY Kawhi this season. We are better off using Jackson and Manu on Kobe as much as possible.
And having watched some Laker games recently, I have to disagree about him being just a jump shooter. He's penetrating just as much as past seasons, but not getting as many bail out calls by the refs. At least, that's the case in the games I've seen recently.
He shoots a lot of turn around fadeaways on the perimeter, which are hard to defend even for elite defenders. Kobe had several shots last night that made Tony Allen look helpless.
Yeah like they said, the good thing is we have a few good defenders to frustrate Bryant. Doesn't really matter who you put on him though he's gona get his shots. Either they fall and he's Kobe the 5-Time champ being compared to MJ or they don't and he's the chucker that cant be coached and won't pass the ball.
We frustrated Dirk and Dirk>Kobe.
It's too early to say Kawhi is gonna defend well kobe. Tbh Jax may even guard him better.
If Kobe can be goaded into taking 20+ well contested shots I would think the Spurs would be in prime position to take a series. I'll wait and see what the match-up looks like during the regular season before deciding anything.
There were tons of bail out calls in that Memphis game lastnight. I guess ya'll are right though, gotta earn them lumps as a rookie.
Dirk isn't better than kobe? Wanna go to the stats ?
force him to chuck to earn his points....i think KL is going to own his ass
Rings , that's really all I need. Also, Dork is half the leader Ko-me is. Stats are just useless sometimes.
LMAO. So Beno Udrih is better than Dirk then?at half-the leader bull , HE Single-handedly carried the Mavs' offense and that's why they got a ring. And kobe? Of course he's a leader, he just had shaq and gasol in all those rings. Think before you talk sucka
kobes not going to get around leanord & his long ass arms. kobes going to be force into difficult jumpshots with a hand the size of a baseball mitt in his face the whole time. not worried about kobe.
Did 100% Dunc just go full re ? Why would you compare Beno (Bench role player) to Kobe or Dirk (Respectable HOF starters)? There is a difference in skill and position, and if you can't see that, then you are a basketball dumbass. Sorry bro.
Because in your earlier post you said Rings were all you needed. Just rode your bull information right? Lmao how many posts you got, basketball smartass?
You re ed, piece of horse .
You mad?
I would expect this from a Lakers fan.
Your argument is invalid. Opponent defeated.
Uh-greed
So, where's ya kobe>dirk argument at?
