Kobe is shooting like crap HE is on pace for his second worst FG% season. Still does not change the fact that Bynum has yet to prove he can be a reliable #1 option. The 3 pointer is not that big a deal ...how is that any different than the ty 2-3 shots Kobe takes every game? or the bal out hesitation jumpers Pau takes 2-3 times a game?
My point is it's easy to be more efficient when you are taking less shots and fed 2 alley-oops per game. Bynum is not the best player... yet. And only someone obtuse or hating would think otherwise. Drew is starting to draw double teams and is improving as a passer but until he becomes a conistent play-maker and shot maker for 4 quarters he is not our best player and if Pau plays like last night he may not be our 2nd either ...

Kobe's so damn predictable.![]()
Something you both have in common ...
He's putting up 18/12 on a team where a ballhogging 2 guard is jacking shots. I'd run an offense through him.
Of course you would, he would be the best player on your team ...
Just kidding. Cant just look at stats. Spurs best players are all good to great passers. YOu cant compare that to Bynum. Again bynum is improving as a passer but he is mostly just an efficient scorer which is great but until he improves his passing even more, your offense would be inconsistent until he improves. But why let basketball knowledge get in the way when you can point at stats?
Your probably right if he really is that bad a passer out of double teams. I dont watch many Laker games. But the only way for him to get better is experience.
He is getting better at it. duncan was not great at it when he was a rookie. But duncan spent 4 years in a great conference learning the game in college. He even though he wa snot very good at passing out of doubles as a rook still better than Drew at it. Bynum came from Hs and has missed 3.5 years to injury. he is getting better but hard to build a great offense around a mediocre passer. But like I said he has improved quite a bit just this season ...
Doesn't help that Lakers can't sink a 3 either... spacing is awful. But the larger problem for LA is the bench and the coach.
I think Bynum's three point attempt against the Warriors shows the total mindset of the team. They just don't give a this season thats why they lost so many games.
Can you imagine Bynum pulling this stunt under Phil Jackson? Jackson would give Bynum 10 minutes a game and play Troy Murphy all month to prove a point.
Jackson is a badass while Brown kisses his players in front of the cameras. The guy is a joke lol.
didnt Brown just bench Bynum for the majority of the 2nd half?
Though Jackson did permit Gasol to step out the side door last Spring.
