The Thunder have a rough stretch of games, facing 5 playoff bound teams. I think there is a strong possibilty that we will be either even or ahead of them after the next 5 games.

    OKC
Thu, Mar 29 @ Los Angeles
    Sun, Apr 1 vs Chicago
    Mon, Apr 2 vsMemphis
    Wed, Apr 4 @ Miami
    Fri, Apr 6 @ Indiana

    SPURS
    Today @ Sacramento
    Sat, Mar 31 vs Indiana
    Tue, Apr 3 @ Cleveland
    Wed, Apr 4 @ Boston
Fri, Apr 6 vs New Orleans

Both teams have kicked it up a notch lately, The only possible losses I see for the Spurs are Indiana and maybe Boston. Thunder have a brutal stretch.

It seems likely that the Spurs and Thunder are going to meet in the WCF, and the Spurs are a huge matchup problem for the Thunder.

    Spurs-Heat Finals.

    Book it.

I think it is more important to try to get ahead of the 2nd team in the East by record in the West both the 7th and 8th seeds could be equally tough matchups. This year in the West the 2nd round matchups are going to be hard anyway and the only advantage to having a better record than the Thunder is that if somehow they met in the WC finals or a semifinals - Spurs would if they get the #1 seed have the 7th game at home [and you know the calls are going to favor the Thunder in OKC so that might be important]. Also LAL plays Spurs 3 x still and could still catch Spurs for the 2nd. IMO I would rather have the big three get rest and have the Spurs shoot for holding onto 2nd. However, if they do match the Thunder at the end with the record I believe Spurs would hold the tiebreaker due to beating them 2x as well and either way the Spurs should have no fear of a Thunder series - LAL and Memphis and/or a re-energized hot Mavs teams are probably bigger threats in the West.

I would prefer #1 but not at the expense of resting our players. Also, despite some discounting the Lakers, I much rather face Memphis or Dallas in the 2nd round. I really want Memphis though simply for pay back. I think it will be a tough series but we have more ammuniation this year to combat their physicality.

Looking at OKC's schedule compared to ours... I'm thinking that #1 seed may just fall into our laps.
But I doubt Pop really cares about getting 1st seed, especially considering how we match up with OKC, so he will keep resting players like he is now.

Expect to see Pop sit back with a glass of wine and just let this play out, no need to change what he is doing.

If I had to guess while looking at those schedules, I think both teams will prob go like 3-2 through that 5 game stretch...so no.

To Indy at home? They have a losing record vs .500 teams. Definitely see us losing to Boston though.

Why would they lose to Boston?

Possible but it's at home and we have two rest days before it. I like our chances against Indy.

As others have stated, health is the most important thing, so keeping guys fresh will be vital instead of trying for the #1 spot.

I would rather be healthy going into the playoffs.

That said, I hope the Thunder throw a bone our way and allow us the opportunity to get the number one seed. Imagine that, getting the number one seed despite our ever-changing rotations, players being injured or just plain missing games.

Yeah...because having the #1 seed worked out so well for us last year.

As it stands the Spurs are more than capable of playing against physical or finesse teams than they were last year. Heaven forbid another major injury, I like the chances against any team.

True dat...the 2012 Spurs are a much deeper team than the 2011 Spurs. This Spurs team is a le contender...don't let anyone tell you different.

Spurs can win all of them, Boston poses the biggest problem only because one of the big 3 might not play UNLESS Pop decides to rest whoever in the Cleveland game which makes much more sense.

Splitter will most likely be back in the Pacers game and when that happens RIP NBA.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs lose no more than 2 games the rest of the year.

Not gonna catch OKC unless they go into a tailspin ... down two in the L column and they've played two more games than SA to boot. Rather stay healthy (or GET healthy) for the playoffs.
