I can definitely see the Diamondbacks slipping a bit within the division and finishing behind the Giants. That said, I don't think there's any way they miss one of the two wildcards. People forget they lost nobody, and upgraded their offense (Kubel), pitching (Cahill), bullpen (Saito) and will be getting SS Drew back from injury a few months in.

I don't expect everyone from that team to repeat their career years, especially offensively, but they are still a young team and for all the talk of injuries to the Giants, the Diamondbacks weathered injuries to Drew, Putz and a terrible slump from Young.

I think where reality catches up their offseason improvements pick up the slack and they finish with 89-96 wins.

This doesn't even take into account their stockpile of young arms that can be called up or traded for help.

If Ryan Howard can suffer another serious injury, the Phillies will win it all. If he stays healthy, the Marlins win the NL. In the AL, I am picking the Tigers.

that n!gga needs to put down the Subway, dets for sure. Still, that Phillies pitching staff is nasty, and now they've got some guns in the bullpen too.

    i'm guessing you're joking about the A's

I heard somebody say on ESPN that they're retooling for the 2015 season. That's never a good thing to hear

Marlins have the potential to win the le but there is a lot of question marks & uncertainty with that team. I know it worked for them in 1997 & 2003 with a similar formula but I just feel they have to fail before prospering. Don't sleep on Arizona.

As a Braves fan, we might not have the same potential (because we have older players) but we will definitely be more consistent.

Overall it will come down to injuries. Marlins with Johnson & Reyes, & Braves pitching staff is coming into the season limbering already

I'm most anxious to see the Marlins bullpen, now that Nunez has moved to set-up and Bell is closing. They were terrible most of last year, but finished strong.

Phillies are the safe bet in the NL. But after them, the NL looks pretty wide open. Cards and Brewers lost a lot of offense, but I don't think the Cards will hurt as much as some think. Time for Freese and Craig to step in and produce consistently, and if they do, Berk, Holliday, and Beltran should provide the rest. Plus they get Wainwright back. But I could see the Marlins or Giants or Braves making a run too if things go the right way for them.

I still like Tampa a lot in the AL. Love their starting pitching. Couple of good seasons from guys like BJ and Joyce, and maybe they can be a little better offensively. Luke Scott and Keppinger are under the radar upgrades.

Tampa over Philly in the World Series.

My Jays should do well if the bullpen doesn't fall apart at the end of games anymore and Lawrie should improve

Trading Leo Nunez for Mike Jacobs was one of many horrible decisions the Royals GM has currently done.

@ Tampa. They won't be in the world series. This isn't 2008 where everything magically went their way until the world series. They won't even get past the first round assuming they even make the playoffs. I can't even believe you put them over your Tigers.

    Mike Jacobs

Leo will be perfect as a set-up guy, imo. He did alright as the closer last year, but he didn't look comfortable in that role.

    Updated

Yes the Fish added much more than the Giants, but the East is much tougher division & the Fish won like 70 something games last year. I think Giants adding a healthy Posey & probably some moves down the stretch will put them at the 88 win mark needed. They won 86 last year
