sup NBA newb
Duncan - 6'11" or 7'?
Ben Wallace - 6'9"
Rasheed Wallace - 6'10"
McDyess - 6'9"
both series featured the defending champs
both series went to a 7th game
both series had a role player step up in clutch time in one of the games (Horry game 5, Fisher game 3)
both game 7s had the winner be down big in the 3rd quarter (spurs down 9, lakers down 13)
at the end of the day though, both players got their rings and finals mvps
37-97 .360% in game 7's
38-108 .352% in le winning games
41% in 37 finals games
66-163 .400% to win finals mvp....lowest fg% ever for a finals mvp (dirk this yr is #2 at 41% i believe)
^guess who this player is?![]()
ANSWER:::
Kobe: 5
the tired old bag Duncan: 4
TS%
Duncan '05 Finals - 47.1%
Kobe '10 Finals - 52.8%
Duncan's '05 perfomance was the lowest TS% for a Finals MVP since '91

McDyess & Ben Wallace both very athletic at that time (not to mention Wallace being DPOY that year & a shot blocking machine)and sheed is pretty much the same size as TD.
Duncan is not Shaq. He doesnt use his overwhelming size and strength to score. Duncan uses his footwork and length to score. So your size comparison makes no sense especially when Duncan has always been grounded.
Duncan:4
Kobe:2.5
Vanessa:2.5
TEE HEE
You'll be the one continuing to repeat it when you are watching the spurs in June on ABC. tee hee![]()
I'm a trend setter.
I set trends.
Lol stat fighting to compare Kobe to Duncan.
You should be trying to compare him with GOAT, but then we all know where that leads.
Might as well compare PG to center.
"The greatest PF/Center to ever play the game" -Kobe Bryant
"The best to ever play his position..." -Jerry Sloan
^
who are the other all-time great PFs?
Malone, Barkley? 0 rings lol
Thats the only thing he can compare, hes delusional thinking the Lakers will win something the more he quotes it.
You're the stat , you tell me.
y so mad?
Malone could have had a ring in 04 if it wasnt for kobe trying to be the man & failing.
Wrong, you have used an excuse why Kobe sucked in his first few years in the league saying he was very young, didn't start, etc.
Also when you say how many years they were in the league as an argument for your statement about the 2010 playoffs, you forgot to mention Duncan is older, had to carry teams a lot more than Kobe has, etc.
Never mind that Ben Wallace is one of the highest rated defenders in NBA HISTORY, at his prime in 05, on one of the greatest defensive squads ever assembled... he's not a 7' center so obviously he sucks on D!![]()
No, I never said he sucks
It's just that Duncan had a size advantage is all
Shaq had a size advantage against Detroit too, MUCH larger than the one you are affording Duncan. Did the Lakers beat the Pistons the year before?
If you're gonna compare them, compare them to Duncan in Game 6 of the 2003 Finals. That was easily his best Finals performance, in which he was 2 blocks shy of a quadruple-double.
Shaq averaged 26 ppg on 60+%, 61.5 TS%
Duncan averaged 21 ppg on 42%, 47.1 TS% (lowest TS% for Finals MVP the last 20 years)
They still lost. Ain't that what matters? Shaq was always a better offensive player than Duncan, that's never been debated, even though Duncan was playing on one leg for that entire series.
phobic tbh
Only pussies & assholes play the injury card.
Duncan in a Game 7
With the scored tied 57-57, the best PF of all time Tim Duncan carried the Spurs on his back despite a physical series against two of the top defensive players in the Wallace brothers. Duncan scored 5 points, dished out 2 assists (both resulted in 3 pointers), and grabbed two rebounds as the Pistons defense swarmed Duncan for one last quarter of basketball.
All in all, he accounted for 11 of the 24 points scored in the 4th quarter, and anchored one of the best defense of the league.
Kobe in a Game 7
With the Lakers trailing the Celtics 55-57 going into the Final quarter, the Lakers paraded to the foul line time after time, with Kobe Bryant leading the way, going 8-9 on uncontested 15 foot shots. During the time when the clock was finally running, Kobe Bryant, arguably one of the top 5 shooting guards in the history of the league, went an astonishing 1-4 from the field, shooting almost half as many FGs as FTs in the period, and had one assist in the period that ended up with a 3 pter from Ron Artest, directly leading to 13 of the 28 points scored by the Lakers. He also got some help from Pau Gasol, who scored 9 points and dished out 2 assists (ending up with 5 points).
It is an amazing game in which 16 of the 28 points scored by the Lakers in the 4th quarter were from the FT line, while the Celtics made 5 of 6 in the same period, in the same game, officiated by the same officials, in an equally physical game when the two teams had very similar FTA throughout the series.
