Game Blog: Spurs at Cavaliers - Apr. 03

Usually I'm screaming at my tv during Spurs games. Tonight, other than Blair being re ed. I haven't been. Good to see the Spurs playing so well. One thing you can notice is that whole good D in spurts they've been doing the past few weeks. They may not have an elite D, but for stretches they can really turn it on. Is that gonna be enough in the playoffs, though?

I just saw Danny chuck 3 three point shots in pre-2nd half shoot-around and scream "Damn!" after the third attempt.

I'm not sure if I should interpret that as "Damn, I can't hit a shot right now!" or "Damn, I can't miss!"

Neal wasn't really that bad, not good, but not bad. Slightly below Average just looks sorta bad when everything else is flowing well. He's ugly when at the point but looks smooth playing sg. I really kinda wish he was an inch and a half taller with each arm two inches longer.

Cavs miss verejo alot earlier in the year when he was in and Irving was a bit hotter they were looking like a pretty good bet to be 7th or 8th in the east. They aren't a good team but they aren't as bad as they looked in that first half but between injuries and the season deflating on them because of it the team as a whole has looked rough the last couple of weeks.

Tbh, I don't change the starting lineup until it stops working well. Pop would be crazy to tinker too much with as amazing as the Spurs have been playing offensively.

Matt bonners defense has improved much more this season but is it just me or does it seem his defense has even picked up even more since RJ left

I hadn't thought about that but you may be right.

His (Bonner's) first half stats are about the same as jackson's with about the same amount of time.

Let's face it, the first half was everybody giving the ball to Green, which was fine since he was hitting them.

Team defense in general improves with RJ gone. When you have long, solid defenders/rebounders like Leonard and Jackson at the 3 position, everyone benefits.
