Quite possibly Manu's worst game as a Spur. Just awful.
this team will only go as far depending on splitters minutes and who we playing against...
Quite possibly Manu's worst game as a Spur. Just awful.
None of the Big Three really got it going. Makes this win even more amazing.
I'm interested to see the Grades on Pop tonight...I thought he was awful in the second half. Spurs were obviously dragging and couldn't get any offense going, and he didn't make hardly any adjustments. Went with two or three combinations through the half (basically the same rotations he used in the first half), none of which seemed to be working. Didn't utilize Splitter on the pick and roll. Didn't try to put in anybody for an offensive spark, like seeing if Mills could get in and knock down a couple baskets, or if Diaw could open things up with his passing a bit. And finally, closing the game out with Bonner? I know he hit the game winner and give him major props for coming up in the clutch, but that's still a bad move 9 times out of 10.
LOL I was at my boys house watching the game, me and him on the sofa, his kids were playing on the ps3 on a side tv (ages 7 and 5)... his wifey in the kitchen making chicken tacos..
After Manu turns the ball over twice horribly... a FUuuuuuuCCCCK GINOBILI erupts out of my mouth, with some other lesser curse words followed in quick succession.
And then they're all looking at me, and I'm muttering some sheepish excuse.
I wonder if it's like hitting a brick wall when you play a team like the Cavaliers the night before, in which you have your way with them and then face a team like the Celtics who clamped down on you. I wonder if something like that messes up their rhythm as the game went on.

OK, just watched the game as I had to work. TP is getting his ass shut down against the elite defensive teams like Chicago, Boston, even Dallas has done a good job on him. Miami also did a good job on him in the second half of that game.
I wonder how he will go against the Grizzlies should be meet them again.
Pop has got to stop playing chokers like Bonner so many minutes, especially in crunch time.
I'm also not sure about this offensive strategy and still want DEFENSE 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
Our offense seems to get snuffed out against the elite defensive teams. I'm not sure if Boston have been playing defense like this all season, but the Spurs offense was totally shut down in that second half. TP looked like a D-League player out there at times.
You're overrating Mills too much.
Exactly. Neal has the ing balls to take shots. Haven't Spurs fans had enough of players shriveling up in crunch time situations? Gary Neal's a tough player. He really needs to work on his defense, but apart from that he's tough.
Pop is a complete tool when it comes to Bonner decisions.
He reminded me a little of Tim Duncan with his responses. Like the quiet acceptance of being held to a standard and the strong desire to live up to it.
Matty took a hot one tonight. Some people seem upset.
My GOD one shot will fall outta ten or so eventually! Now he did hit that so tonight I will lay off him, but dude is still a mental midget in the clutch, bar none. He needs to do it a few times for me to give him any credit.

"Qué partido espantoso acabo de jugar! Igual ganamos en una cancha muy difícil como BOS"
"What an awful game I just played! We still won on a very difficult place to play like Boston"
I had the same feeling in the 3rd quarter. Freakin popovich could have dug deeper in his bench and use Mills and Diaw...
The Spurs won but you score 28 in a quarter, not in a half.
Don't need to. Rondo is the TOOL of Tools.

Wow Rivers basically says playing Bonner allowed them to go small in the second half and shut us down. Blames the loss on their first half defense.
Only pussies & assholes qualify victories.
Are you happy that you almost got beaten? What if Pierce's shot went in, would you still have the same reaction?
Molly McGrath is a fox
Exactly if Pop had played anyone else other than Bonner they won't have been able to go small. Bonner is 6'10 but he plays like he's a 6'0 guard. It's ridiculous.
11 April 2012. Next week. Mark that day down on your calendar.
stephen jackson will be invaluable in the playoffs, he was still able to make plays against celtics defence
