Memphis won't beat the Spurs this year. It won't happen to Pop twice.
You guys can't hang with the bullies on the block (LAL and MEM) over a series.

I admire your gung-ho, indomitable spurfan spirit, though

But it will be a shorter/easier series if Tiago would get time alongside Tim or maybe some Diaw against Randolph?
Exactly. I don't think last year's team reached it potential or this year's team will reach it's potential till Splitter is playing minutes like the 4 or 5th best player deserves.

I think Thunder still have two or three Ls on their schedule. Spurs only have one game the rest of the way they'll be underdogs in, tbh, but fatigue will be an issue.
    Three games with the Lakers.

I for one hope the spurs can avoid both of Memphis and LA, but it's likely they'll face at least one or both in the playoffs.

The lakers have been looking better and better every game w/ Sessions and Artest is heating up, Bynum & Gasol beasting, and lakers look like they're just starting to find their peak.

Memphis also just coming off a huge blowout win against Miami in Miami, that is defenitely scary.

Memphis, yes, the trio of the younger Gasol, Z-Bo, and Marreese Speights frontcourt, IF they can reach last PO zenith and develop good chemistry & mojo downlow, especially offensively, would be freakin tough match ups.

But The Lakers, the older Gasol doesn't seem all right to me this season, even las season. Bynum's dominating though, gotta admit that, but that's not a secret. And Lakers third big's garbage, so NO, this team doesn't strike much fear to me nowadays, UNLESS Kobe suddenly becomes an efficient & aware facilitator + Sessions catching a big, big hot streak in the post season.

why? It's a nice achievement no one thought of months ago. They already crowned the Thunder months ago.
yeah I know.... regular season championships

I would be confident for at least the WCF but Im afraid pop is going as usual to overuse the turd towers

The best part of being #1 is staying out of the Lakers side of the bracket. I hate that matchup, tbh, and would much rather have OKC have to deal with 'em in the second round.

Memphis wouldn't be easy in the second round but the revenge factor would be so high that I can't imagine a healthy Spurs losing without giving the fight of their lives.

I guess we should thank you and hope that you can beat the Clippers, then you can hang your Pacific Division 2012 winners banner with pride.

Tmvp. Spurs haven't played the fakers yet so why do u hate that match up? Front court? Or does their bench scare u?

non-issue. TBH, I actually think that the Lakers are going to get swept again this season. I respect the Lakers for winning twice in 09 and 10, but they just don't scare me anymore.

Ideally, Mavs would heat up and Grizz would cool a bit and it LA-Mem would be a 3-6 matchup, with LAC-Dal as the 4-5.

Still, I think we've got some advantages against both LA and Mem. Against the former, our bench would just completely trash theirs every game and I think Pop vs. Mike Brown is more of a mismatch than the Lakers bigs vs. ours, tbh.

Against Memphis, there is the revenge factor. Last year they played as well as they absolutely could and Spurs played as worse as they possibly could and had Manu at 70%. There's no way Randolph will be that good and Tim/Tony that bad again. Also, Grizz have lost two of their best perimeter defenders in Sam Young and Shane Battier.

Oh like you predicted last year that the Spurs were going to steamroll the league and ended up on the end of a Venti Quattro beatdown?

    Maybe you should start.

0-4 against the Mavs, meltdown every 4th quarter except the last when the Lakers basically gave up.

Stephen Jackson just needs to trash talk Bynum, goad him just a little, and he is done. The 7' 2" child has no parents on that team. He does as he pleases. Its a great situation to watch. He parks in handicap spots and argues with the cops, and then argues with the bench of the opposing team when told not to do so or he is gone. Great comedy. LA deserves a professional bunch for the rioters at Staples. Or one can go to a Dodgers game and get clubbed by a gang member. Perfect fit. Metta World Idiot, tat man Barnes, and now Bynum.

I think this winning streak is getting to people.

I know that the Lakers are really dysfunctional and that I'd prefer playing them over Memphis, but that doesn't mean they're not a dangerous team imo.

With Blair and Bonner playing as the second and third bigs they'll still have a significant advantage in their frontcourt and if Kobe comes to his senses he'll likely have a field day as well. What with our wing players sagging to the post and all...

I'm not making any set predictions until we've seen them play but on paper the Lakers aren't a good match-up against the Spurs as it stands.

Like I said, I admire your gung-ho spirit but you know that I know you fear the Lakers and want nothing to do with them. I'll play along though and let you guys keep up appearances
