Ginobili would be "my ideal" choice.

Neal would be the "obvious" choice.

Bonner would be the "most fun to watch" choice.

Duncan would be the "magical" choice.

Jackson would be the "I have tears in my eyes" choice.
    I'll add my own:

Patty would be my "I'm booking my flight to Australia ASAP!" choice.
Diaw would be my "Boris you are so sexxx-ehhh can I have your number choice"
Anderson would be my " s ya, I'm joining the fan club, trade Green!" choice.
Blair would be my "You go big B! Have another what-a-burger on me!" choice.

As long as he's wearing silver and black, I couldn't care less.

Having said that, Duncan deserves that honor, and then Manu.

Don't want Bonner on the court. He'll freeze and hold the ball till the time is almost expired.
Well, the thread le says "Game-winning buzzer beater." In order to launch a buzzer-beater shot, you kind of have to have or retain possession of the ball with only very little time remaining.

Yes, but since the thread question assumes that the shot will go in, in time, to win the championship, what's the harm of him holding on to the basketball until time is nearly out?
Thousands of spurs fans simultaneously having heart attacks all across the world would be my guess.

TP already has his finals MVP. Duncan would be amazing, but c'mon. That's just greedy.

I would love Manu to win it with a step back jumper.

There's no way Bonner would be left open, but it would be so amazing if he hit a three on a tap out offensive board. the ultimate you to ST

    to dream...

    It's the playoffs.

More seriously, how do you watch Spurs-Mavericks games without looking weird?

    No sarcasm intended.

Well, I generally hope that if there has to be a playoff meeting between the two teams, that it comes later rather than sooner. So 2009 and 2010 were kind of irritating, that one was bound to be eliminated in the first round.

I can just see it now....

Finals, Game 7. Spurs down one. 8 seconds left. Tim, Tony, and Manu...Jack and Bonner in the corners.

Tony inbounds to Manu. Ginobili looks for Tim inside...he's covered up. Manu takes two steps back, crosses over, and tries to beat his man off the dribble. But things go terribly wrong. As he reaches the top of the key, his defender gets a hand on the ball...it bounds off of his knee and skitters out towards the three-point line.

Matt Bonner takes two steps over. In one motion, he sweeps up the ball from going out of bounds and, like a firey-haired trebuchet, launches the ball toward the basket just as the final buzzer sounds.

    Time stands still.

    Money.

Spurs win. Heads explode all around SpursTalk.

15 years later, as we point to the Bonner jersey hanging in the rafters, we'll tell our kids the legend of how a sandwich-mongering quasi-Canadian overcame the odds.
