Two things I'll mention (others have said the same):

    1. Leonard should have been out there late in 4th for rebounding, defense.

    2. I'm a little worried SJAX hasn't hit too many big 3s since his arrival (Everything else for the most part has been positive, but he has had a couple of 3s late in games that he hasn't converted).

Danny has had games like this all year. Thing is he will bounce back with a 3/4 from 3 performance with great D next game. But the fact that these games happen pretty often with him is a scary part, especially when games mean so much in the playoffs.

If he's not playing with Manu or TP, then Pop has to call 4 down for Tiago.

I think it's a better play than calling a Tiago pick n roll with Neal/Green/Mills.

80% of our plays begin with pick & roll. They wasn't only a play for Tiago.

But sometimes we should play 4 down.Agree

That's why as good as he is, I don't feel comfortable with him being the starting shooting guard in the playoffs. Then again, Jax didn't make a case for himself tonight either.

Officials played a large role in the outcome of the game - something one never wants to admit... But this game was primarily lost in the lack of execution and missing timely shots. I don't remember seeing so much confusion at the end of games like tonight.

Danny misses too many easy shots, and badly at that, but I'm not going to hate on him any more than that. It's disappointing, but he played hard.

His defense was a lot better than what we could have gotten from RJ.
Yup, but he's struggling with the j

I definitely don't like the Jax/Leonard combo on the court. Jax' handles are pretty awful and that would leave Tony as the only one who can create at all. At least Green can put the ball on the floor. Jax is a straight up 3 now IMO.

Spurs need to keep playing the way they're playing on defense and get to 87 pts and this is a W.
Neal was pretty bad on defense and offense towards the end. Horrible decision making. I'd much rather have Mills running the show.
Agreed..As soon as Neal came in the game late 4th qtr the lead was lost despite a couple of good shots by Neal. Just look at the +/-

Danny Green simply didn't know what to do with the ball. He ran around then made crappy shots. He can't handle the pressure, that's all.

Nobody hates Bonner. I was pleasantly surprised by his performance for most of the game. He's just not a 4th quarter player.

Disagree some. Of course tonight was bad, but with TP on the floor Jac is a solid ball handler.

He is when Tim Duncan is sitting in a mansion 2 thousand miles away.

As lopsided as the FT were, how badly we got beat on the boards defensively, having our two best ball handlers gone which led to a bunch of mistakes, I got no problem with a loss.

James Anderson and Diaw playing late might have helped. But we got some guys that were whipped. Jackson looked very tired to me.

This has got to give Tiago some more confidence with the playoffs coming. Pop has to see how valuable he is on our small team.

Gary Neal, Spurstalk's favorite one dimensional pet was a huge reason for the loss.

    Nary a word about him.

Defensively against a tough front court it was one of his better nights.

    Considering no Duncan? Probably better.

Bonner choked at the end. Couldn't hit .

I said in the first half jax and Bonner need to step up, but neither did in crunch time. Turns out I was right and they were the keys to the game.

If I was coaching I'd have been happy with the first half of that 4th quarter from Bonner and I would have left it at that. I would have went with Diaw and Splitter to close the game.

I've figured out the problem with Pop. He always pushes his luck with Bonner. Every time Bonner even remotely looks good like in that 4-5 minute stretch at the start of the 4th quarter Pop just keeps riding him like he's a difference maker, but almost every time he chokes at the end.

Pop has got to wake up and stop trying to ride Bonner. Tim Duncan usually covers up for Bonner, but tonight you saw what happens in crunch time when Tim Duncan isn't out the to cover up for Bonner's chokes.

Sjax putrid performance and he needs to step it up. He said a few seasons ago that he is every bit as good as Kobe Bryant. He needs to step it up.
